This is why I love your channel. You recommended or review stuff I would have never heard of or read had it not been for you. While there were series i had read or heard of here there were also many more i didn't. Thanks mate.

I can't tell you how delighted I am to see you started with Kane. I've loved Kane since the mid-90s!

I randomly picked up a couple of issues of Rex Mundi in a quarter bin and immediately went and got the 2 omnis. Great series. Also high on my recommendation list is Xenosoic Tales, The Marquis, Trekker, Ex Machina, Fear Agent, Alien Legion anything First Comics put out and anything by Mike Mignola.

I'd definitely enjoy a continuation of this kind of series. As far as other videos you make, I'd watch another 50 years of your Eisner Awards breakdown videos.

I think there's only another 20+ years left to go. Unless I start predicting the future Eisner winners? There's a thought. :)

I need palooka-ville. It was love at first sight from the art, I revived a category in my notes app called ‘human’ where I wrote a couple paragraphs about my want before even reading some text you showed. Then you described me at the end as an outsider desperate to understand. Im drunk, sorry for spamming your comment section on a beautiful video.

I always enjoyed Thieves and Kings by Mark Oakley. It eventually went from an ongoing series to graphic novels, but I don’t know if it ever concluded.

100% agree about Kane. I picked up almost a full run from the discount bin at my local comic-book store and I read them all in one sitting. Great stuff! Plus, Paul Grist is just an all round good egg. I've bumped into him a few times since he lives in my home city and we have friends in common, and he's always been a delight to talk to.

Been working through ElfQuest, the first 2 volumes were great but volume 3 has been a bit of a slog. Still a worthwhile read. Queen and Country was a title I enjoyed until I discovered where Greg Rucka dug ideas, and even plots, from, The Sandbaggers. After discovering that it gave me a bitter taste in my mouth. Still a good spy series, but I would recommend Sandbaggers if you can find the show.

Strangehaven is an all time favorite of mine, shame that Millidge hasn't finished. I know the fourth arc was serialized in "Meanwhile...", but even doesn't lead to any meaningful culmination. You're absolutely correct though that just reading what is out so far is good enough on its own.

Without going into too many spoilers, I don't think Ice Cream Man is the kind of series that can ever have a true resolution because of what that character represents.
@dreigros14 сағат бұрын
Feels like Monica by Daniel Clowes would fit perfectly in this list. Btw I thought Ice Cream Man would be another cliche horror comic but its a pretty clever and creative series. Also great list.

A graphic novel I love is The Pervert by Michelle Perez and Remy Boydell. It's a mostly autobiographical account of the former's experiences of having to survive off of sex work in her early adulthood, and the physical and emotional effects it has on her

You should have waited to finish reading Head Lopper before recommending it, because in the final issues a heinous new villain is introduced named Strangebrain Casavettes who gets decapitated while taking a dump. Not sure why no one told you about this!

I don't understand why American Flagg is so highly praised.
@StrangeBrainParts9 сағат бұрын
The first twelve issues are a pretty solid story. But what gets it the praise is the design of each page and how such a dense mixture of images and text flow together intuitively. If I ever do the next Comics 101 video, I'll have more of an explanation in it. I also believe I go in-depth about it in another video. I think.
