I’ve been watching this show since it started back in 2013. I was 17 years old at the time and still in high school. 8 years later I’m 25 and out of college and all I can say is that this show really made me smile through some really hard times and I took soooo much advice from the ladies. It’s a real shame it’s being cancelled.

The show was a good one but had truly changed in recent times. It was a light hearted show about sharing life experiences, playing games and keeping it real. In recent times it became political especially during the elections, then a bit more about race, then about advertising craft hosting lorry loads of new faces, Jeanie turned to a psychologist not just someone sharing her experiences but someone sounding like an expert on life matters. Garcelle was a great addition to the show but the creative direction of the show didn’t quite catch on. Leave when the ovation is loudest. Loni didn’t need to put out an explanation. 8 seasons is great and the signs were clear.

Facts I loved Jeanie in the beginning she was the cool gal with cool stories then she became an a psychologist and kept interrupting everyone else, she said the chocolate thing🙄 and then she just became overbearing. This was my favorite daytime show until the pandemic. Season 7 was really hard to watch but we knew it was temporary. But when I saw that season 8 wasn't bringing back the audience like every other show was doing by this time, I knew it was over. This new format doesn't work for a show like The Real. The energy between the hosts and the live studio audience was special. It was part of The Real's magic.

I wish it could stay on for 20 more years, I wanted to have daughters so they could grow up and watch this show with me and see what these smart, capable, beautiful minority women have made. My husband and I have a sports bar we go to occasionally because they just make one of the best hoagie sandwiches I've ever had and its near the college UGA. When we go on Saturday nights there's this same chubby blonde girl who's always sitting at the end of the bar and she's so loud you can hear her all through the restaurant. It's obviously to draw attention to herself and Tamar reminds me of this type of person.

Meh can’t say I’m surprised, we all saw it coming. Once covid hit, it just wasn’t the same anymore. They lost their chemistry and let’s be honest, it got boring. And they stayed filming at home for a whole year while other shows went back to the studio. Once they got back in the studio, they still didn’t have an audience or a table to sit at. They wouldn’t even get up to welcome guests that came on the show. Imo, they all outgrew it but stayed for the checks and it showed.

I remember when this show had its pilot test run episode and I was all for it. Was hoping it would be picked up for a full season and it did! I loved the show but tbh when Tamar and Tamara left the show just wasn’t the same anymore. There was a dynamic that the OG cast had that couldn’t be recreated, not even with Amanda Seals or Garcelle. It lost its spark so I wasn’t surprised it was cancelled.

Though Tamar seemed like a lot to handle and often times extra, I have come to actually understand her stance on so many things and so I will simply trust her judgment if she chooses to stay away from anybody. It is nice to get along with people but may not always be the safest thing to do.

I disagree. Although Tamar was a great cohost, the show was able to win an Emmy without her. Plus the show continued on for 6 more years without her. If the show got canceled a year after they fired her, I would agree with your comment. But the show has had many success without her.

They won an Emmy "after" Tamar left the show, so obviously they proved that she wasn't needed to succeed. They last 5 more year's after her departure.

I genuinely wish there was a way “WE” as an audience could veto this cancellation, I don’t think they (whom ever made the decision) realize how IMPORTANT the show is and it’s TIMELESS effect/influence to the hardcore fans (ME)! Or can some other network pick it up?! Like, this is absolutely tragic. 😓

I will miss The Real!! A lot!!! I’m telling you, and just ask my family: this was my favorite show that I would look forward to watching every single day, five days out of the week. Like another person said on here in the comments, this show made me laugh and even cry when watching certain episodes. I loved seeing all of the ladies together who got along and even when they didn’t agree with one another they made up and hugged and even laughed and got over it! What happened?! I know the show got a lot of views, so why is it being canceled?! I don’t get it. Anyway I hope the show will reconsider staying on the air. And other shows have continued even with pandemic. There are shows that have been on for years! I just hope that they talk it over with whoever is in charge bc this is MY show! And I’m talking like I’m the only one who likes it. 😂

It's time for Jeannie, Garcelle, Adrienne & Jeannie (hopefully Tamera too) to start their own show. Forget television- if they did a weekly video podcast on Spotify similar to how Joe Rogan has his setup, I'd absolutely tune in. I'm devastated by this.
