It's the heavyweight championship of the world, he should be fighting every round as if he NEEDS to win it. This whole "I thought I was winning" nonsense is just an excuse. Fury was exhausted and hurt and he was giving his all it just wasn't enough. Quit the bullshit

No you're wrong. In round 8 he got clipped and got his nose broken, and all hell broke loss from there you can see he kept whipping the blood from his nose he was feeling really uncomfortable from that point on. I had a draw until round 9, round 12 arguably could of went either way. I love the way people keep giving shit to fury this and that but never mention the fact he kept on his feet in round 9, 99.9% of people watching it would of went straight down the canvas unconscious but the people behind their computer screens and TVs no more and laugh about it and this is coming from someone who is a massive fan of usyk, the fact he continued fighting on from that point on is win in itself.

sensei spot on. there should be desperation from fighters and their corners should know/tell them its a close fight and to not leave it to the judges. look at those moments when floyd told davis he was losing. turnt it up and finished him. or when strickland(who was dominating whole fight v adesanya) was cornered such and made the last round convincing.

I genuinely think people are clouding their judgement simply because they dislike fury. He definitely needs to be given the credit for making the fight so close… which it was. Honestly, anyone with an unbiased opinion would agree to that.

The fight was competitive, but I don't think it was close. Usyk inarguably won 7 of the rounds including a knockdown, and I scored it 8-4 Usyk. At best, Fury won 5 rounds, but even that is questionable.
@davidfairweather3301
@davidfairweather3301 4 ай бұрын
I think because Fury had the height, weight and reach advantage, Usyk deserves more of the praise for convincingly beating him. Not only that, but Usyk has been so overlooked and underestimated by people in the boxing community. Fury, wilder and AJ spent years bickering with each other about who’s the best, and who should fight who, and Usyk has quitely and respectfully came in and took out 2/3 of them, and Wilder isn’t even considered a contender anymore. For all the shit Fury was talking, how long he stalled the fight, and the fact he tried painting Usyk has the one who was afraid after Fury demanded a 70/30 split, and Usyk still agreed to it. Overall, it’s hard not to want to clown fury, cos if he had won we’d have all this “I’m the best in the world and I told you all” - Yeh now look at you.
@iancarter8199

I don't think that they should know their scores. Because like sensei said himself what if someone is down by a lot, and they know that they don't have a good chance at winning, what are they gonna do? Probably give up, and just try to get to the end of the fight. And also that allows for fighters to try a tap and running technique where, they do good in the first couple of rounds then just try to survive the rest of the fight. Its not like they act like unofficial scores are official. If you put all your faith in you already being ahead in the unofficial, that's on you. The uncertainty should be what makes you fight harder under whatever circumstance, because there is always a chance you could be losing and right on the cusp of victory, and theirs always a chance that you could be winning but only just barely doing better than your opponent and you don't want to give them a chance.
@peezieforestem5078
@peezieforestem5078 4 ай бұрын
The problem is, it's not about just "fighting harder". There are high-risk, high-reward strategies, and then there are conservative strategies. The fighters have to make the call. It's unreasonable to spam risky moves, unless you are behind. So in order to be strategic with their decisions, fighters have to know the score.

That was a great fight and a great spectacle for everybody watching. The people that have got on my nerves afterward the most are the people coming out and saying "Furys crap, he's never been any good", which irritates me in 2 ways. 1, saying Furys crap takes away Usyks achievement. 2, Furys not crap anyway. Those guys went out there and put on a great display of heart and determination and gave us something amazing to remember. Love or hate Fury you can't say that he hasn't given boxing some epic nights, and so has Usyk, give them both their due.

You do not need to know the score. Just knock your opponent out and finish the fight. Why do you need to know the score? Bs
@peezieforestem5078
@peezieforestem5078 4 ай бұрын
Because there is an element of randomness involved in knockouts. Sometimes, you get fighters who are equally likely to knock each other out, and then the one who got to it first wins. It's luck, not skill. If one fighter consistently performed better throughout the fight, but then caught an unlucky hit, that's obviously an outlier. Normally, such outliers should be eliminated by multiple fights, but in combat sports, it's damaging for the fighters and also less interesting for a spectator. Therefore, the fight has to be settled in 1 match (plus possibly a re-match), and, consequently, it needs to have a scoring system. Also, sometimes knockouts just do not happen.

People talking about how the scoring system is fine are stupid. It's so ambiguous it literally happens every close fight be: "Oh, we calculated this many points, we thought we were winning ez" There is literally no reason to keep the score secret until the end. Even if they want to keep it like that for the suspense of the fans they can just tell the corners so they know the situation and can instruct their fighters properly. And so many times the judges are braindead and fights are literally stolen. This sport has the worst scouring system. On top of what I said before there should also be a second counting after every fight, with judges that look at replays so they can see everything from all angles and have a final unanimous decision. I bet more than 10% of fights would be corrected. Who knows maybe in 20 years they'll use AI on the live cameras to count the points and we can finally have competent scoring.

I think the boxing scoring system is born from an era of when boxing was a fight to the death... when someone had to kill the opponent until the fight was allowed to end (unlimited rounds were the norm before 1910). The scoring system kinda reflects that mentality of 'in reality the score only matters if someone doesn't die because fighters should/will always fight to the death anyway, regardless of any score along the way'. But in the result of no death, a score is a necessary failsafe so that someone who remains living (ie, not yet a murderer) can still get a fight purse.
@BotDavid
@BotDavid 4 ай бұрын
He’s wrong about the scoring. You shouldn’t know the score until after the fight. If you slack off, that’s your fault. Comparing it to basketball is ridiculous. Boxing is fine with the score being between the judges. You should know without the judges if you are losing.

I agree particularly in this scenario, no boxer should be slacking or clinching through rounds thinking they're up, Fury got exactly what he deserved for believing in his own scoring so foolishly. I do think though that in some other fights, at least some form of transparency (doesn't have to be round-by-round scoring) should be added. Often the most controversial rounds that have led to "robberies" have been thrown under the rug of an end-of-fight scoring reveal, without judges being held accountable for truly corrupt scoring (e.g. Loma v Haney iirc round 10 or 11?)

I certainly don’t agree with open scoring at all. But one thing that’s pretty much the norm in boxing now, even tho I’m a fury fan so this is to his benefit now but it was totally was not in the wilder fights and that is to become a champion you essentially have to beat a guy two times in a row and it’s pretty much a given

at 11:00 I gotta disagree with ya. Not knowing is what separates the best from the best. when joe frazier and ali were going at it, do you think they cared if they were ahead or not? no. they were giving it their all. they were still trying to KO each other in the last rounds. a true GOAT, a true champion, will give everything and have no excuses left to give a the end of the fight. win, lose or draw.

I don't get what sensi is trying to argue because MMA uses the exact same sort of subjective judging system. It's the exact same concept but just with a few more things you can judge subjectively from ie, ground control ect Plus how he says it will give true competition, which I don't believe, because the person who's doing will obviously try harder, but the person who knows they're up will just avoid engaging and try to cruise tippy tapping to the finish knowing they're up on the cards

Way off on the scoring. Dude, Dazn commentary also has a guy scoring the fight, and they announce that guy’s scoring live which was saying Usyk was up by round 9. Fury’s corner have ears and heard it. They were just teying to save their fighter from getting KOd by Usyk, so they advised him to fight smart as he was on wobbly legs. So now they can tell a story as if Tyson stood a chance.
