Thank you. No I don't use any lipo technology that uses heat--it generates too much scaring and fibrosis so I just use the traditional technique. I like my results with the traditional lipo. I have used laser technologies in the past many years ago but stopped using them because of fibrosis.

I have 2 questions. Question 1: I see from a quick Google search that there are three types of fat: brown, white, and beige. Does the type of fat matter when it comes to fat survival after grafting? Can you tell what type of fat you’re dealing with based on where it’s located in the body? Like is there more brown fat in the back and white fat in the thighs, for example? Question 2: the waist-to-hip ratio is used to indicate health conditions like diabetes, for instance. If I lipo myself a small waist and then transplant the harvested fat into a more healthy location, will I be reducing my risk of disease?

Dr. William, I got a tummy tuck with lipo of the flanks and inner thighs in April. My doctor was ultra conservative with the removal of that on my inner thighs and I had plenty of extra fat on my inner thighs, as well as on my flanks, they are not even. On one side I have a nice hour glass shape and on the other side it is not as curvy and noticeably straighter. Would it be completely disrespectful for me to talk to my doctor about my concerns when I go back to get my dog ears removed? That was a lot of Money that I can’t easily come up with again to pay upfront.

Of course that's reasonable regardless of the money spent. All plastic surgeons want to hear from patients so don't feel embarrassed or worried just have a reasonable discussion. Talk about the things you like, and the things you don't like, and see what options are available. Most of us will not do any revision until 12 months after surgery because it takes the body long time to heal.

I mean, fat deposits in stomach and how less fat will affect baby growth, and then can someone have lipo again after 5-7 years? You need fat. They’ll just tell you to gain weight for the procedure, “skinny” BBL.

A BBL involves injecting fat to enhance the hips and the gluteal area and that fat comes from the liposuction.

I do not use J Plasma and I would not suggest anyone gets J Plasma. The FDA just issued a warning saying it was dangerous and cautioned patients and doctors from using it.

I am 9 weeks post lipo and BBL. Is it normal to still have hot water and tons of swelling in my lower back, stomach and waist areas and my skin feels SO uncomfortable all day long, pins and needles, i can't wear ANY clothing even my fajas because it burns and pinches and ITCHES! Touch touch touch. I have patients with similar experiences and it is from the nerves that are over sensitive and the only way through it is to perform a lot of touch. That is different than massage. You want to touch all of your skin until it starts to feel normal. It will gradually get better over a few weeks of touch therapy.

One week off of work is usually sufficient after liposuction. Remember there are no limitations after you have lipo so as soon as you feel well enough you can resume all of your usual activities.

Sounds like you are very thin and skin is the main issue but I have found that even very thin patients can have small deposits of fat in the love handles or key area or in the back and can benefit from a small amount of liposuction in these areas during their tummy tuck.

Question: Hello Dr. I have a question for you because I admire your work and opinion a lot, I had a BBL and liposuction done exactly 3 months ago and when I came out of surgery, all of the skin where the liposuction was performed was very stressed and it looked almost burned and i was in excruciating pain, so because of that; I was forced to sit on my butt for the 1st week and sleep normally on my butt pretty much nothing to touch my skin of my abdomen until it healed and to make matters worse, i was in the hard beds of hospitals getting blood transfusion because my blood levels dropped a ton, And I wasn't instructed to use my pillow at all, today I am 3 months post, and my butt It's actually very nice and full and it doesn't seem like I lost much or anything at all, what is your opinion on this since you're not supposed to be putting any pressure on your new butt? 🙏🏼

Who cares about a BBL? I just learned yesterday from another channel. BBL stands for "Brazilian Butt Lift", apparently?
