In this video my mom GM Pia Cramling and my dad Juan Manuel Bellon Lopez played out the exact same position to show people the difference between how grandmasters think in chess depending on their style. The position was from a Magnus Carlsen game. Hope you enjoy :)

you have such wonderfull parents. Both completely different in their personality but asbolutely nice people. I liked how your father was so much more imulsive while your mother was calculating every move. Very nice video and I love the chemistry between you and your parents. subbed Edit: I feel like a total tool but why does the engine offer a draw when there's only on white king while there's a king, a queen, a knight and several pawns for black?
@RoseColoredIris
@RoseColoredIris 11 ай бұрын
I was confused the first time it happened to me too. It's because white has no legal move. You are not allowed to move your king into check. So Juan put his king into a position that would result in a check if it moved and then forced the engine to take his last two pieces. Thus resulting in a stalemate.
@StCreed

In chess the rule is that if you don't have a legal move left (or only repeating ones) you draw. Anna's dad basically put himself in a position where had no legal moves so it was an automatic draw.

it would make very good series of videos if you could get you GM mom to analyse a given set of positions - and her next move. Her assessment of position is very instructive. As regards your father if you could match him against Rosen and see who could stalemate the other first 😂

I would love to see you and your father in a video only speaking spanish (we only had the luck to appreciate it in your game against rey enigma, and it was great).

You have no idea how lucky you are to have two parents still together, that love you & each other, are both top class in their profession, and are both v. smart and charming.

Anna.

I think I love Anna's mom. She is amazing. Anna gets her calm demeanor from her. She gets her sass from her dad.

The Spanish Tal. Not a bad nickname, I have to say! Lots of comments have already said this, but *all* the streams with your parents have been just great.

Love this, which I could see their boards side-by-side to be able to watch the differences unfold turn-by-turn.

I started learning the game about 5 days ago and today I got my first win against a 1300 player. I'm currently rated 450, lots of stuff to learn but I have to say it felt quite good

I ran the game through engine and at the time of the draw tactic, the eval is mate in 16 for black. So that draw really was the best that could be done in the situation, great find wow
