Tbh, it's quite sad to see Cassie using the vanni mask as a last resort in the Brazil ending. Her panicking as she knows the mimic is bound to find her soon. While (I'm assuming) Cassie is reassuring everything is safe as a voice of Gregory in her head. One of the worst endings (in a good way) in all honesty, thank god it's not canon.

In the spanish version of the game, when Greg starts talking with Cassie at the end part of the game, the spanish subtitles say “mi amiga tiene acceso a los mapas del edificio” (in English is “my friend haves access to the building maps”). If y’all got some spanish knowledge, “amiga” is the female version of saying “amigo” (which is friend in english). In other words Greg is with Vannesa. It can’t be an error cause the rest of the game is well translated and maybe SteelWool wanted to hide stuff so the community can be back again? Idk, that one is a big stretch but it certainly interesting how in spanish literally says that Greg has a friend. I think it was Freddy’s head but with the game translation it’s obvious is Vanessa. So yeah, Princess quest ending must be canon. Watcha thing? (Sorry if I misspelled something. My original language isn’t english, is spanish 😅)

one more disadvantage of english... and i also think that Princess quest is real, because if you look at burntrap there is an endo kind of similar to mimic. in the burntrap ending mimic might've put on what was left of will afton, i think that matpat said something about it in some fnaf theory, but the odd thing is that only few things check out (fingers, his left foot). example of things that don't check out is more or less the rest (height, his right leg, shoulders, hip joints). i doubt that mimic would replace his own, very well functional, parts with scraptrap's, burnt and very likely not functional, parts (we are keeping the fact that scraptrap is missing his left arm and burntrap not OUT)...

I have a slight theory on Gregory and the Mimic. I think Gregory was very much talking on the speaker, but he didn't plan to cut the elevator. He was just telling her he didn't want to be risked being followed, like he won't tell her where he actually is. And the Mimic was working on cutting the cables and the timing was just "perfect".

That's what makes the most sense to me tbh. If that was actually Gregory talking, then he was saying that in the sense of "we're the only ones who know this thing exists and might be able to re-contain it, so we can't risk telling you where we are and potentially leading it to us. We can guide you out of the Pizzaplex, but after that you're gonna be on your own." After all, if he really had no intention of saving Cassie, then he would've lead her to the furthest corner of the cave system from any of the exits to give himself the biggest head start on the Mimic. The truth is probably that the Mimic dropped the elevator so that it could use the shaft to escape. Without the elevator obstructing the shaft, it could just get the door open and climb out.

I think you're right, that or maybe more simply, the cable broke. I see no way the Mimic could cause the elevator to just drop. If he could manipulate the elevator or get into the shaft in anyway he'd been out a long time ago. If Gregory did drop the elevator, it was a forced twist ending with no logic: Greg helps her get away from the mimic, gets her to the elevator. The elevator doors look like it easily stopped the mimic and the mimic has been down there for ages and never gotten out, so doubtful he could now. Sure he could probably get through the gate through changing form a bit, and start climbing up, but there's likely no way he could get through the elevator floor or elevator walls/shaft wall without going T3000. And if he starts to climb just tell Cassie "oh hey, so make sure you get off real fast, leave that hand in there, and we are going to drop the elevator to ensure he can't follow and maybe kill if he's climbing his way up."

I think that is probably the best of both worlds. And makes the most sense as I don't think Gregory would drop the Elevator because it doesn't guarantee the mimic doesn't still escape so would just kill his friend for no reason. And would match the files. (Even though we all know the files don't mean anything)

In the elevator, a camera is visible. It's likely that Gregory has access to the camera, and could see that the Mimic's hand made it inside of the elevator with Cassie, so he probably just changed his mind last second. I think Gregory did originally intend to save Cassie, it's just that the Mimic's hand somehow would have led to the Mimic escaping.

If Cassie is dead, then Roxy wouldn't be able to hear her, and thus wouldn't have said her name. this opens up a few possibilities. 1: Cassie survived and Roxy found her 2: Cassie's spirit possesses Roxy, which she can sense 3: the mimic copies Cassie's voice to lure Roxy 4: the mimic copies Roxy's voice to lure Cassie out if she isn't dead 5: Cassie's spirit possesses the mimic (unlikely) 6: Roxy is trying to find Cassie, calling her name

Another thing to note is that the voice line subtitles of Gregory during the elevator scene suddenly separate into two once he says “It’s not your fault… but we can’t risk being followed. I’m sorry,” which could be another implication that the mimic suddenly spoke over him at that moment.

At that point in the story, it doesn't matter if the elevator is cut at all. The Mimic could have just gone back through the other hole and escaped that way, like you pointed out. I think Gregory would have known that, so he would never kill a friend for no reason. I think it WAS the Mimic, though, to get his hands on Cassie. I think it calculated the possibility of her surviving that elevator crash and wanted to corrupt her mind, like Vanessa was once corrupted. And so it gets a new Vanni-like lackey. And it used Roxy's voice to comfort her in the darkness and possibly to nurse her injuries.

A theme they’re really leaning into with SB is Animatronics teaming up with a human partner. I think if the default ending is real, then it could lead to Help Wanted 2. Where Cassie's father goes looking for her. Since Gregory and Vanessa are trying to keep the mimic hidden, Cassie's father believes that his daughter is somewhere. He find leads that she is somewhere deep, thus leading him to Help Wanted location. We do know he has the same tool that Cassie was using in the game.

We have to also consider how Gregory at the end of the day is characterized through the main story and some of the non canon endings (while the endings may not be canon, some character details may be canon) as RUTHLESS. Without hesitation or remorse anywhere near Cassie throughout the main game he brutalized every animatronic aside from Freddy. I'm certain that Gregory would cut the elevator for the greater good if thats what he believed was best.

Similarities between the Scooper and Elevator endings: 1.Cassie doesn't make it out immediately (with or without Roxy's help) 2.The Mimic is missing an arm or heavily damaged (if the scooper didn't work) 3.Sister location hints Either way I think we're not done with the mimic and sister location, Help wanted 2 will definitely give us clues or setup for the LORE hunt.

Dude I super appreciate you talking about this in a completely factual manner instead of gunning for one side. I personally don't think Gregory cut the elevator because listening to his dialogue, taking the situation into context, and knowing that the mimic is already free anyway and is capable of just doing what it did with Cassie again to any other ignorant stranger, makes no sense why Gregory betraying Cassie would be true. I will accept being wrong but if I am then there's a lot more problems with this ending than just Gregory.

In the books, the Mimic has the power to affect electricity and it's proximity-based. So maybe it was the Mimic that just cut power to the elevator. Also would make sense as to why her mask and flashlight stopped working as soon as she got down there, although I'm not sure how far the proximity goes. Something to think about for sure! EDIT: I forgot that she was able to use her mask in the Brazil ending, so disregard the last bit!

I think from the very beginning Gregory have set up traps for anyone who enters the Pizza plex like the cart falling down the stairs, the bots jumpscares (specially with the mask one), the elevator falling down. It might sound so dark like trying to kill the person who enters the Pizza Plex but like Dawko addressed 10:13. And the mask bot is just backup incase anybody survived/didn't get scared of the traps... buh yeah just my thought

I still lean toward the Mimic being the one to cut the elevator: 1) The mimic is already out, elevator or not it's going to escape, at most the elevator crashing saves maybe a few hours? 2) As mentioned, the mimic is ruthless, it will kill and possibly enjoys killing at this point. It wanted Cassie dead and would do what it can to get her 3) The mimic is a robot, even with the damaged arm it could have potentially crawled up the wall, as seen in the Base game the Endo can climb up the wall as well 4) Mimicing Gregory's voice could have been a way to manipulate Cassie, should she live the crash [likely did as the games seem far less brutal then the books] it could make her thing Gregory did it and want to get back at him [even if not allied with the Mimic either] 5) How would Gregory have cut the elevator? If he was there then wouldn't have made more sense to confirm the mimic before crashing it? Even if we say "he didn't want to risk it" then why even go back to the pizzaplex at all? Feels like it would make more sense to get evidence and have a higher power go and clear that place, mimic might be strong but if there is proof a human killing robot is loose that can copy and trick people, damn well sure the military gonna level that building and put it on thorough watch to eliminate that threat. Meanwhile Gregory cutting it only delays a few hours, hours lost by him having to been at the Pizzaplex already. And if you saw he could do it remotely, then he could have seen the camera feed that it was Cassie, and in turn also kept an eye when the Mimic moves out to plan as needed. Or waited till Cassie got up then sent it down and crashed it. Idk just seems like a pointless plan of action

I think it would be really interesting if we played as Cassie’s dad trying to find her because in ruin she says that her dad was an engineer. I also think it would make sense that there would be missing posters of Cassie and her father would go look for her because maybe she would’ve snuck away from home to try and find Gregory of something? Steel Wool could have left "Grimic" as "Gregory" in the elevator cutscene files because otherwise it simply wouldn't be as interesting to theorize, and they certainly knew we'd look into the files. Going by the small hints that it was Gregory and Vanessa (and maybe Freddy too) that helped keep the Mimic trapped down there (his lil' backpack, and the Freddy-talkie was probably dropped by him too) maybe MAYBE the Mimic's motives might be more 'personal' than just escaping. Assuming the Mimic hijacked the elevator, by keeping Cassie down there he's fabricated a reason for Gregory and co. to return. He could be using Cassie as bait to lure them into coming looking for her. And as a bonus he may also have manipulated Cassie into distrusting/hating Gregory to pin her against him as an antagonist along with Roxy (who already hates his guts) just to further rub salt on the wound. If the Mimic is looking for personal revenge on Gregory and co, forcing him to face against someone who used to be great friends with him certainly would be quite vindictive.

EXACTLY, I think whether or not it’s the Mimic speaking in the elevator, and cutting the line, is a major plot point that will be a central aspect of a sequel game, should they plan to do that. It makes absolutely no sense to spoil that immediately in their files. This is FNAF, everyone is going to look through the files. I think people get so obsessed with things that developers can add IN to the files, that they forget they can also take things out for the same reasons.

I'm not surprised they changed the ending. This is the horror genre after all and happy endings are rare. The twist makes it better from a storytelling perspective. However, I truly hope it was the Mimic that condemned Cassie, not Gregory. Maybe it wanted to trick her further because it needed more help, or it wanted to stop her from leaving because she could warn others and it could be locked away again. I saw in the menu at one point, below the objective it said "I'm Lonely". Could it be some part of the Mimic wants help or companionship? At first I thought Cassie died and possessed Roxy. But the more I thought about it, I realized that Steel Wool probably wouldn't go in that direction. It's more likely that Cassie is injured and Roxy finds her. Roxy got hit by a car and survived. Stopping an elevator last minute isn't entirely unlikely. I can't even imagine what the sequel will be like. It's highly possible that Vanessa and Gregory will come back to stop the Mimic, or just Roxy and Cassie handling it on their own. Taking place in the underground tunnels would be cool! I also don't think Monty and Chica are gone either. It's not that easy to kill an animatronic

The only problem I see with those thinking it was the actual Gregory is that the mimic could just go back through the broken entrance Cassie made and leave the Pizzaplex therefore Gregory would have no reason to kill Cassie. It would be different if the elevator was the only way out for the mimic and he cut the elevator to not allow the mimic to escape. However, that is not the case also Gregory isn't seen as hostile and evil but in the book series, he is portrayed that way however if he was as deceptive and malicious as he appeared in the books he would most likely have teamed up with the mimic and Vanessa wanting to cause misery and destruction to those around him. I also think that if that was the real Gregory that Glamrock Freddy and Vanessa wouldn't have allowed him to cut the elevator and kill someone who tried saving who she thought was him. Knowing the mimic with its deceitful, cunning, and malicious hostility it would make sense that he would override Gregory talking to Cassie and make her feel betrayal and pain. Especially since he is mimicking Afton who also enjoys the suffering of others. I think what is going to happen in the future is Gregory, Vanessa, and Glamrock Freddy are going to revisit the Mega Pizzaplex and since Freddy was only a head I think he will have possibly a new body with some upgrades. I think it will be the three searching for Cassie, while Roxy and Cassie try making it back to the surface. I also think the blob is going to have a major appearance and help them in some way take out the mimic as well as Glamrock Freddy possibly rebuilding and reuniting with Glamrock Bonnie.

Blob fighting Mimic, I can see that since there are theories that the Blob is just this amalgamation of agony, something that the Mimic definitely has and something that the Blob would want, however, I don't think it will help Gregory, Vanessa and Freddy, it might be something like a third team involved.

but gregory never mentions that the mimic should not escape therefore cutting cassie off, actually he realises that the mimic is free because cassie already deactivated M.X.E.S. and freed him, he says clearly that they can't be followed which would probably happen if cassie escapes because where would she go other than to gregory, this probably means that gregory and vannesa have some other plans to end the mimic and stop the disappearances. It just feels like Gregory is part of a bigger operation trying to end everything once and for all, infiltrating the pizzaplex, freeing vanessa finding the fnaf 6 location with the blob, putting the M.X.E.S. system in place to hide the mimic, these feel like setups for something big. This doesn't feel like some story of a random boy who found himself in these situations, this all feels planned and RUIN beeing an unexpected event in his plan.

The code for the ending talk from Gregory being labelled Gregory when he cuts the elevator could also be Steel Wool trying to keep us guessing and off the trail until more information comes out, likely with Help Wanted 2. Side tangent here: Personally, I think Help Wanted 2 is gonna involve Glitchtrap trying to take control of Cassie's mind like he did with Vanessa. Remember that, when Cassie gets the mask, she gets a device implanted into her brain that allows the HELPI AI to communicate with her at all times. This device could be Glitchtrap's window to control Cassie and ensure that she can't escape like how Vanessa was able to with Gregory's help. Although it is strange as to why the Mimic went to kill Cassie if it is Glitchtrap, there is the fact that there was a brief argument between 'Gregory' and HELPI when we first see the MXES entity get sent away by HELPI's suppression signal, so it could be possible that Glitchtrap has become his own entity as a side-effect of the Mimic's volatile and aggressive AI. Where as the Mimic just wants to kill, Glitchtrap is taking more after Afton, that is what it represents, and so this has created a sort of divide between Glitchtrap and the Mimic. I'm just purely theorizing of course, but this could make things interesting going forward.

But Gragory has to know that the elevator that Cassy is in is not the Only way out of there, the way Cassy entered is another one. So cutting the elevator does not prevent the Mimic from escaping AT ALL. The only effect it has is closing 1 possible path and potentially killing Cassy. Therfore the Trolly problem is not a trolly problem at all, because whether Cassy dies or not the Mimic is still free.

You can't really go out the way you came in, you fall down several holes. there's also the chance that more of the pizza plex has fallen apart by the time you get there. Actually yeah now that I'm remembering it, in chapter 1 an elevator completely blocks the path from going back and theres the giant sinkhole, so unless the Mimic can fly, or maybe there's a vent path, then there really isn't another way.

There are many ways out of the Pixaplex once mimic is back up there so the elevetaror cassy took is far from the only exit (there has to be a reason why both sides of Mimics room were concreted shut and not just one, so both are an escape route for mimic)

Not to mention that once the M.X.E.S system failed, he could prolly hijack that first elevator and make it go up. Mimic dropped the elevator because it doesn’t want Cassie to rejoin with Gregory. Hence why he was so desperate on killing her to even lose a hand to try to succeed. How it achieved in dropping the elevator is simple. It’s connected to the VANNI system. The mimic was able to possess Helpi to guide her through it (when Helpi had orange eyes), created a program to temporarily suspend the security, and possess the animatronic that gave her the Vanny mask. The security was the main program in charge of the VANNI system and was able to stop the mimic from using it. Once it was shutdown now the Mimic has full control of the VANNI system and it took him just long enough to fully integrate with it to stop Gregory’s message and changed it to betrayal. (The alternate dialogue that Gregory has was his original dialogue before it got cutoff at “Don’t let it escape.”) In case she survives the fall as it doesn’t want Cassie to reunite with Gregory. I’m assuming it learned from its previous encounter with Gregory and Vanessa when they trapped it down there the first time. As it doesn’t want the group to have teamwork, but keep them separate instead. Hence why it was desperate in not wanting Roxie to know about Cassie, and once she did, then tricked Cassie into shutting her down. It’s pure goal is Divide and Conquer.

I do like your last point a lot with keeping the group separate and not together. It is very much like that in the epilogues from TFTPP if I recall correctly. The group splits up and then one by one the Mimic kills them. Which could be what we see here since Gregory and Vanny escaped. The Mimic learned and is keeping the group seperate and so not letting Cassie escape by the elevator was only necessary for the Mimic.

@@Peanutso True but it’s been around for a long time and there’s no telling what new tricks he learned the first time he escaped when Gregory and Vanessa had to seal it up again. That first time he definitely learned how to use the VANNI network in order to make Cassie to use it to free itself along with the walkie talkie and how it got access to recordings of Gregory to imitate him. Plus he didn’t use his hand to cut it, he used the network and probably just turned it off.

I'm on the side that it was Gregory. The audio static sounds more like an old speaker system being activated and as far as we see the mimic can't create new sentences. Throughout the game it relies on audio recording from SB. As for motive: He barely escaped the Pizzaplex and then later learned about the mimic (maybe from Vanessa). Gregory deemed the risk of escape to high, even if it meant cutting elevator.

Cassie risks her life chasing and trying to find Gregory in an area she is highly likely to be killed and frightened in. If Gregory was really her friend, he wouldn't drop her on a dime when the mimic can still escape. On top of that, Gregory was sketchy in the og security breach, removing parts and disassembling the other animatronics for glamrock freddy. There's at least one part in the game where you can return chicas voice box to her. We still don't know what that is for

We also could consider that even after the Mimic's reveal, it could still be impersonating Gregory, attempting to lure Cassie into a false sense of security. One thing I find quite cool about this game is the fact that the players see the blob leave, which could hint towards the idea that there's multiple villains now, one being the grimic connected to cassie, while the other being the blob or even burntrap, depending on how you view the ending of security breach, for gregory. The grimic is supposedly stuck in the pizzaplex with cassie, while the blob escapes the pizzaplex like gregory does.

I can imagine your idea getting canonized. Maybe even HW2 will have some involvement in the sequel. There were so much detail involving SL, that it would work, definitely. Also an added detail would be cool, where Roxy helps Cassie escape from the sinkhole and hide from the Mimic in the meanwhile. It would be really cool, if we could play all 3 charaters, where we go as Gregory, exporing the tunnels and SL you just mentioned, searching for Cassie. It would even work, because the confrontation of Roxy and Gregory. Maybe he would bring down Freddy's head with it's own eyes and give back Roxy's. In the meantime, the we could play as Vanessa to help Gregory on his way or even reactivating the MXES security roaming in the pizzaplex above. And also play as Cassie as I mentioned above. I'm extremely excited how this new era of Fnaf would role out. Lots of people have different opinions, but I genuinely see the potential.

An elevator can use counter weights to work. You see elevators have a cable going down the shaft in films. That cable connects to weights on one end and the elevator the other. Cut the weights moving down pulling the elevator up and you will cause it to fall as suddenly the elevator isn’t being pulled up by the counter weights. As the mimic has strength to break things apart it could easily break any safety door and in theory cut the counter weight

About the falling elevator: So, the mimic is free, Cassie gets in the elevator and whether the elevator falls or not, the mimic is free. Given it is really Gregory talking in the elevator (supported by the game files) it would only make sense that Gregory is thinking the mimic is in the elevator and he tries to kill it by letting the elevator fall (why would he try to kill Cassie when the mimic is free anyway). ​@@c.k.779 Well, there are fire escape ladders in elevator shafts usually. If the elevator was just cut, then the Mimic could get in and just use the ladder to escape. On the other hand, if the Mimic somehow found a way to access the elevator with or without a faz-wrench, then Gregory and Vanessa could booby-trap the elevator to fall if it ever starts to ascend, which could possibly destroy the Mimic, or at least damage it some and make it harder for it to escape.

People keep forgetting that in the cutscene the mimic throws the radio away and then ends of fighting Roxy and then starts chasing Cassie, so how would the mimic have time to get the radio again and and use the radio in the end? One more thing the area where Cassie takes the elevator is not linked up to the V.A.N.N.I network because if you notice through the game the mimic is able to affect areas that are part of the V.A.N.N.I Network, so how would the mimic be able to cut the elevator if it's not part of the network?

Because remember during a certain cutscene it was helpi and Gregory on the radio which was the mimic stops the M.X.E.S. program from coming after you at Monty's golf and that's just one example.

I think the "original elevator ending" where he doesn't cut the elevator is just more proof that the mimic did it. It's clear that, that's what Gregory would have said if he wasn't interrupted on the mic and if the mimic never cut the cord. Gregory knows it's Cassie in the elevator. there's a camera next to the microphone and he's most likely watching Cassie, the light is on, implying that someone is watching. Also I really do think we should take the audio files with a grain of salt, because I don't think steel wool would be putting that much detail into it, and its easy for files to get unorganized and messy, especially if they rushed the game. But one thing they wanted to make obvious wasn't just the audio glitch on the elevator, but when the audio glitch happens another subtitle of Gregory appears below Gregorys original text, Implying that he's being "mimicked". I feel like the mimics arm getting cut off does not affect his physical attributes at all, he's still fully capable of cutting a cord with one arm, its a murder machine. Theres a lot of key information missing in this video, like, I don't see how Gregory could have done it if he's not at the pizzaplex. he couldn't have gotten to that exact elevator in that short amount of time. As for the trolly problem, I think anyone, especially a kid would choose to sacrifice a bunch of people over someone they knew and cared about. Gregory may have been heartless to the animatronics in SB but it's obviously because he was getting chased by them and seen them as a threat, which they were, same goes for Vanny. He also cared for Freddy, so I don't think he has the guts to do something like that to Cassie. He even cried for Freddy when he was torn apart in that one ending, Gregory is one of those characters that holds onto people he likes. If it really was Gregory who cut the cord, he would have definitely been under some influence.

I dont think he has any problems to go through the doors which closed behind us while getting down. The biggest Problem was the concrete Wall we smashed with the forklift! He just need to go through this exit. If you think like that... It makes way more sense to kill Cassie because she know about the Mimik. Maybe he will now escape to hunt Gregory and his "friend" to end the line of witnesses. :) We will see... but maybe the scooping ending is the true ending... The Glamrock bonnie secret may mean more than people think. As his eyes are still glowing with those wet floor signs around him. They only turn off when all signs are deactivated. the audio files that dawko mentions imply that gregory came to the pizzaplace, when you find roxy for the first time and then hear him talk to you not through the walky talky and then roxy chases the voice, that is labeled as gregory in the files and seems to imply gregory is somehow at the pizzaplex after cassie but just can't contact her because of the mimic and helpi with the vanni mask, it probably makes more sense that he actually manages to contact her finally if he is indeed in the pizzaplex too and only after cassie exits the vanni coverage zone and after the mimic has no more reason to trick her after they meet. just my thought

There’s a couple of issues I have with Gregory dropping the elevator. 1: Like the mimic, he should know that there’s another exit the mimic can take so dripping the elevator and killing his friend is pointless and 2: Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t there a camera in the elevator? It’s that red thing next to the speaker. If that’s a camera, shouldn’t he be able to see that it’s Cassie in there and no mimic? Honestly, I’m kind of thinking that the mimic did destroy the lift but Gregory’s speech at the end just means that he can’t come and help her.

I think what Gregory did was use Cassie as bait, if the Mimic prioritzes killin, then he will follow Cassie everywhere she goes, so if Gregory drops the elevator, the Mimic (being an AI that just wants to kill rn) will follow it, and end up trapping him self. Game files say Gregory said all the dramatoc stuff, so it doesnt make sence to say those final lines if he aint doin anything

I absolutely LOVE the idea of exploring the tunnel system that connected all the locations together. Not only would it make the new installments feel more connected to the original franchise but it would be fanservice galore, I mean can you imagine being Cassy and finding fredbear's or one of the Freddy's and using the mask to see it come to life again just like the pizzaplex in ruin? I just realized that, like in Tales from the Pizzaplex, we see the lights flicker in the elevator as the Mimic is trying to get into it. In the Tales epilogues the Mimic blacks out whatever room it’s in. It’s a cool detail, and you can tell Steel Wool is very committed to intentional details like that.

We don't really know what systems that elevator is connected to, and it was able to influence systems in the plex so it could have used whatever networks to cut the elevator. Especially since the one system that was holding it back was shut down by cassie.

I find it interesting that the mimic was giving us hints through the V.A.N.N.I mask. Its like it has access to it. It'd make sense if maybe the mimic cut the elevator to prevent Cassie from getting M.X.E.S fixed. It took a desperate risk to ensure that it still had winning chances. Im also curious if when we heard the line "Give up, you cant win" from Roxy while she was fighting the mimic, was the mimic trying to copy her voice or if it was actually Roxy. If the mimic was able to get a hold of gregory's voice, why couldn't it get Roxy's? And I think you are absolutely right about about all the buildings being under The pizzaplex, or at least freddy fazbears diner. In the books, it talks about the mimic killing off the teenagers in several different costumes. The mimic is most likely still in that building with some of the costumes mentioned. It tended to use the blue dog and elephant the most, which can be seen in the room with the mimic. If those are the only suits there, maybe the mimic took them with it and it moved somewhere before it was sealed? Or its just a coincidence that its most commonly used costumes were there. How did Gregory connect to the speaker? If he could do that, could he connect to the camera next to it? The red light was on, meaning the camera was on as well. Maybe gregory did see that it was just cassie, or he saw something we didnt.

Personally I think Gregory saying they couldn’t be followed meant he’d be cutting communication with Cassie and wouldn’t be able to help/meet up with her because of the dangers of the mimic following her to them. But the elevator isn’t the only way out of the area the mimic was trapped in, so Gregory cutting the elevator doesn’t make sense to me since he’d have to have a way of doing so from outside the pizzaplex and it wouldn’t even guarantee the mimic didn’t escape. It was a cold hearted move to abandon Cassie after she went so far to save him either way, but I really think the mimic was the one who cut the elevator cuz it wanted to kill Cassie and then escaped thinking the job was done. What I’m hoping comes next is the confirmation we get from the very end that Cassie is still alive and is now teamed up with Roxy like Gregory was with Freddy!

I don't think Gregory "cut" the elevator. Freddy said it was a one way trip and since the vanni ending is most likely cannon Gregory and Freddy never went down there. Cassie already used the elevator so Gregory probably knew it would fall because he still has Freddy's head and Freddy knows the building layout better than even Vanessa would. Maybe they hoped the fall would kill Cassie thinking it would spare her from the mimic.

Yes the Vannesa ending is the canon ending, but your explanation is messy, you didn't tell the explanation about the elevator, you mention the Freddy head but didn't tell the importance of it. Maybe Gregory thought Cassie was in the elevator so he felt like he couldn't trust her. It's not rational but it is understandable. It's not exactly stupid. Gregory was scared. My THEORY is that Gregory didn't cut the elevator cables, but instead he let the Mimic break the elevator. It's likely that he didn't intend to break elevator, but instead he hung up on Cassie and then the Mimic broke the elevator. I would infer this by the fact that Gregory's unused voicelines said "But make sure it doesn't follow you" implying that he was telling Cassie that she needs to make sure the Mimic doesn't follow her. So he was leaving it to Cassie to figure a way to stop the Mimic or he was leaving Cassie to figure a way out for herself.

It could 100% be a bug, but how Gregory's speech appears on top of each other makes it look like two different people are talking. It's possible it's his name in the files because it could spoil the next game/dlc, which they wouldn't necessarily want. If they have a hard confirm in the files, it would shoot down any theories surrounding the ending. I do think the elevator fall will be the cannon ending if there's a sequel. You hear Roxy at the end, calling to Cassie, which could indicate she survived the fall. It would make a good cliffhanger for what's to come next.

Remember where Cassie was climbing the ladder at the start of the game inside the shaft and the elevator DROPPED right next to her? If the Mimic thinks he is Gregory, he's not outright lying to Cassie. She spent the whole night trying to save him, even if she thought it was "a different Gregory", to Grimic she was trying to save /him/. But if she followed him, she would warn people about him, and he could never actually be free and do whatever it is he's set to do. He's attached to her because he's seen the footage of actual Gregory comforting Cassie from the security logs, so Grimic tries to use a sympathetic tone of voice but still sounds cold over the PA. Cutting off the elevator won't seal the building, the Mimic can still get out otherwise that's how the Mimic would have been trapped in the first place, not way way down behind concrete. So he cuts the elevator, not literally cutting the line but by accessing the Pizzaplex system which it already clearly has access to as evidenced by it's influence on Helpy. And of course Cassie survived and the next game is going to be Cassie, Gregory, and Vanessa working together to turn the animatronics good and defeat the Mimic. But the ending when they defeat it will be heart rending because as Grimic he is convinced he is Gregory and his AI has never been fed the data to be able understand why they're killing him.

Here my perspectives : -For the Grimic and RN Gregory , a reminder is that Steel Wool are aware people look at the files , in an interview, i think one of the dev said their favorite easter egg was one that was found in the game file . So they should/could be aware of people doing so to look for game lore info (also like you said , game file are not the most consistant in term of lore drop , like Cassidy in the file and stuff like that) . -The audio that play when Gregory presumably switch also play when Gregory start speaking in the elevator, so we know it an audio that play when someone connect to the speaker and start speaking, or something like that. -in that same elevator scene here is this detail that may seem like a glitch , but when considering context could have been made in purpose, basically here , and it basically the subtitle . The detail is that : Why in the same scene the second audio play , per coincidence, the line of Gregory's betrayal appear as a second subtitle overlapping the first subtitle ? like if here was a switch and someone took over , i watched a lot of gameplay , and every single one had that detail, i don't think it a glitch . -This one is a more direct question : How could Gregory even crash the elevator ? All he said he could do is watch the map . Was he in a room where he could control the Pizzaplex or something ? I think The Mimic being able to do that is more likely , since the Mimic1 Virus is thought all the Pizzaplex. -Now to answer : "Why would The Mimic even do that if he could escape ?" I also wonder if they will explain the glamrocks having personalities and if they are self aware because it definitely seems so. Gregory’s wording when taking in the elevator scene is really intriguing how he uses words like “down here” implying he is down there himself and with words like “we can’t risk being followed” which asks questions like is it vanessa(most likely) or is it someone else and how Gregory talks about risk of being followed if they are not near the pizzaplex there shouldn’t be any risk of being followed at all unless they were down there with Cassie and the mimic and down the elevator and further in the tunnel systems and that the mimic knew where they are and could get them. Which would make his decision to cut the elevator make sense since cutting it would stop the mimic following them but would come at the cost of him having to kill Cassie

If we do get a game in the Tunnels, I hope that Steel Wool uses the AR mask again to work in more fantastical elements. I really enjoyed the "haunted" aspects that the VANNI network enabled with the spooky visuals and especially the echoing sounds of the Pizzaplex's past. I think it enables cool chilling scenarios too, like where Cassie couldn't take the mask off- and also the fact that the chip could possibly make her hallucinate even with the mask off makes you doubt everything that you see regardless. I think that the old locations being so full of supernatural energy, of Remnant and Agony, that they would warp reality and make you doubt your senses could make for a really engaging Haunted House experience, especially in the literal Afton House if you believe that it's down there as well. I think what was missing most in Security Breach and what was so good about Ruin was the inclusion of these surreal environmental elements, and it feels like the VR/AR angle of this arc of the stories in the books is allowing them to do more with fantastical environments. Security Breach had moments of weirdness, like the sticky note room and the endoskeleton daycare, but it was always grounded in reality. I always wanted the path to veer into areas that were weird and surreal, where you're not sure you're in the Pizzaplex anymore and you can't find yourself on the map, things are impossible and weird and you're never sure you're not dreaming from that point onwards.I think that this could be because of the Blob being a haunting force in the bowels of the Pizzaplex, infecting every piece of technology with Remnant, something "underneath" the original Glitch from Security Breach, and I still think this is the case, and the reason for some of the visuals and sounds in the VANNI dimension. Something to remember though is the next game is already coming. I think we're going to get some more lore in Help Wanted 2, Help Wanted 1 set up Security Breach with a lot of hints and clues, even if a lot of it turned out to be Red Herrings. I think we'll definitely be seeing more VR/AR weirdness, as that's the big theme of this arc of FNAF, and I definitely think we'll be seeing some new lore. I'll cross my fingers that it'll be about Vanessa or the Silent Child from the therapy CDs. I think a lot of folks would be happy to get more about Vanny, even if it seems she's gone as of Princess Quest being the canon ending.

Well, they can literally do whatever they want to but there are some interesting stuff: 1- By the looks of the elevator end, it seems that both Cassie/Roxy survived. Obviously the Mimic as well but I have a feeling that once that elevator closed, he fled. As you, I don't think that he is mimicking Roxy cuz the entire point of the DLC was him to flee. He can't easily get out but the security nodes are deactivated and if there truly are tunnels, he then can just try to go out another way. 2- Roxy: if Cassie will be playable, I think she is gonna be what Freddy was to Gregory: someone that is looking for her. We have no idea how she turned back on, it could be remnant, a spirit or whatever but I have a feeling that part of our journey is gonna be to "put back" together Roxy. Giving her a new face, with a minigame similar when we did it with Freddy, maybe with one of the endos or something. 3- Helpi. Here is where I have no idea. Helpi IS the Mimic, right? So he infected Cassie and is on her mind, right? If not, was he a part of glitchtrap but then he was also being corrupted by the Mimic? I really don't know, but both the Mimic/glitchtrap are gonna be a huge part of the future. Is Helpi gonna be there? I think so. It's clear that he lied with the Coverage of the Vanni mask, so I wouldn't be surprised he comes back and the mask becomes useful on the future. 4- The Blob: they were on the game, albeit very briefly and easily missable. I think they're gonna be important as well cuz they should be against both: mimic/glitchtrap. Maybe they're gonna be an unexpected ally (or something akin to "the enemy of my enemy is my ally" situation?) So I think that the entire thing is gonna be both a rescue/destroy situation from both Gregory/Vanessa. For Cassie, it's gonna be just to escape. With Gregory, we are gonna find some parts of the tunnels with maybe the old locations of the pizzerias whereas with Cassie it's gonna be something related with Sister Location. I say this cuz what you pointed out: there HAS to be a reason why on the trailer of HW2 there's that Easter egg of this recharge mechanics that you ONLY do it with Cassie

I personally think it was the Mimic who cut the elevator. I think this is the case because, while Cassie is being chased by the Mimic, Gregory is guiding her to the elevator to escape. Why would Gregory guide Cassie to salvation just to sacrifice her? Sure, you could say that Gregory thought it was the Mimic because his arm was inside of the elevator with Cassie, but, remember, Gregory only has access to the cameras inside the Pizzaplex. Meaning that, he wouldn’t have known if it was Cassie or the Mimic. Plus, since he wasn’t at the Pizzaplex and he only had access to the Cameras, how would he have cut the elevator? And another thing, dropping the elevator would be meaningless, as the Mimic already had a way to escape beforehand. But anyways, that’s my take. Feel free to argue with me in the replies.

Yeah this is me too. If it was Gregory then this is actually a plot hole and an obvious one. If he couldent risk being followed (which considering he isn't even at the pizza plex in person he can't be) then he would not guide her to the elevator in the first place. Standard elevators also have ways to escape them encase of fire and such, and usually a ladder on the inside of the shaft. A fact steal wool knows cause we clikmb up said shaft ladder in the first like 5 Mins of the game Hes either an idiot who wanted to risk leading the mimic to a clear way out just so he could murder his friend himself, or something else is going on. Oh and you can't drop an elevator remotely. It's not something you can hack. And a child would not have the physical strength to cut said wires even if they could get to them. Or... It's a plot hole... Like a gaping plot hole.

Dawko, I was thinking about the Blob when you were talking about traveling in tunnels, because it's always traveling (as you can see so many tunnels) and people can hear things moving around when the mall was opened, so they could've heard it or felt it moving around. Maybe that's how the Blob obtained all those parts, from traveling to old restaurants? I think that elevator will take us to a tunnel that makes us choose a path to take while we're with Roxy, and each path is a different location we can go. I feel like we'll be able to upgrade Roxy throughout the game, like how we did with Freddy in Security Breach, because we're going to different locations, so there's always going to be the spare parts room! The clue is in the subtitles. Gregory's name appears twice right when the static sound occurs, as though two Gregorys were speaking simultaneously. It only does this again when Cassie speaks over Gregory. So it's not a bug, it's a clue. Edit: Fair it's not labeled as Grimic, but that may have also been intentional obfuscation of who was speaking. Hard to know!

Subtittles are broken in this game, just play the main one and you will see how the same thing jappens, also, the game files make ot very clear that Gregory said everything in the elevator, if steelwhool wanted to confuse us usong the files, why specify wheb Gregory or the Mimic are talking during the whole game, and lie at the end when they could have labelled everything as Gregory?

It's literally overlapping because dialogue is late sometimes it happens in SB too. It's not that deep.

theory about gregory: gregory is a robot that was meant to be the crying child according to matpat’s theory and he got taught how to act like the crying child, meaning that he probably has a program similar to the Mimic1 program. in the sticky poster room there is evidence that gregory had communicated with charlie in some way and my theory is that the mimic possibly communicated with gregory too, which explains the nightmarionne plushies (bad side of charlie since it’s charlie and mimic mixed), the tiger rock eye colors (green for charlie [green glitches in the VANNI mask] and purple for the mimic [afton]), why he cut the wires in the elevator, and also his “aggression” towards the animatronics but not towards freddy, since he’s a prototype which explains why he malfunctioned on stage and also why the mimic couldn’t control him like he did with the other animatronics, making them “malfunction”. however, charlie probably made him mimic michael afton (good spirit) to perhaps protect gregory as an older brother and also to protect him against the Mimic’s will since he controls the animatronics (evidence in the “Storyteller”). many holes in this theory, but i think it might be possible in some way. also sorry if the theory was confusing but i tried my best to explain it !!

Ok. So hear me out. With the alternate ending line that was cut. I can understand the thought process. To me it seems like Gregory was going to say: "but we cant risk being followed, so, make sure you lose it" or something similar. However, the dialogue is cut short because of the elevator falling down. This way SW can give the ending some ambiguity and make it seem like Gregory is at fault when it is not his fault and In the process making everybody doubt if that's the real ending.

Either way, the mimic is getting out. The real threat with Cassie now would be if she is fully infected with the Vanni mask. I think that might be what Gregory was worried about. Because the mimic is literally going to turn around and escape from the other side. There was no reason to drop the elevator. I don't see how he could have cut it either. The mimic might still need her.

My exact thought yeah. Makes no sense to lead Cassie away just to drop her either. Mimic now has 2 ways of escaping, both are elevator shafts

Gregory couldn’t have been worried about that because the Virus is dead (glitchtrap wasn’t afton, it was a virus from the mimic that was copying afton)

When the the alarm sounded and gregory said "it wasnt your fault" both texts with the name gregory are in the same screen meanwhile if the text is coming from the same person, the other text should have disapeared, leaving the next text alone in the screen, that says by itself that the gregory that betrays cassidy is NOT the real gregory
