I like using his Skill quite a bit. Either to buy time so I can break with something else, or to freeze just before enemy turn resets their shield. The freeze prevents that and keeps them down for longer. It also gives quite a bit of energy. And having Silver Wolf adds additional chance to freeze both with added weakness at E0 and reduced effect resist with E2. Don't have E1 Gepard yet or any Speed Boots. But I do use Energy Rope. The speed boots aren't needed. You get hit, you can get 100% energy and often can recast the shields long before your team needs them. The thing you need to keep an eye on is whether or not you are using it too early. Wait until enemy is about to go, and isn't just going to wake, and watch your team bars to know if they still all have shields or not. It's ok for Gepard to take some damage unshielded. He has high DEF and HP. He's not going to die when unshielded. You can save your Ult at times for your team.

Absolutely not full clearer but I've 3 starred up to moc5, Gepard surprisingly got a really good uptime with his technique + ER rope i thought it would play a lot more sweaty but nope. I like to pair him with March that is way better/can focus at freezing and give him more taunt or grant a panic shield to an unfortunate soul, that way countering the counter synergy he got with Seele/Bronya. Also at e6 she can even fix the no healing factor but you can miss out too much damage by pairing them and i haven't built other characters enough to get out these comps to push further

And she's full of energy and very emotive! And - spoilers ahead - is the only one to rationally respond to having to lie to the citizens of belobog about Cocolia. That and intriguing lore. What's not to love? and of course I can't leave Gepard out of this. People say he's simple and boring. Simple true, but simple and amazing! And maybe a bit boring as a basic guard, but he's got a lot of charm and cuteness. He's got a knack for his inability to sing, and is a very -bad- vivid painter. IDK THERES JUST SOMETHING ABOUT HIM

Rule of thumb of Turn-based games: Always have a Tank and a way to mitigate/heal damage. No exceptions. That's why I always bring one in every game I play.

​@@syminreed3922genshin gameplay is like mmorpg except singleplayer but u get the point. Survivability isnt needed much there since you can just i-frame with dashes and burst skills. In spiral abyss (genshin's endgame content) all the enemies in the last floor are bullet sponges so damage is way more impactful than survival. Yes a healer is needed but if said healer cant bring their own form of dmg/ buff they arent that worth building.

I picked Gepard instead of Bronya as my free 5 star in the 300 pull banner, no regrets. The shield uptime is 100% as I also use SPD boots and ER on my rope. The fact that he takes the hits fills up my energy bar more faster. I use Jing Yuan, Yanqing, Tingyun with him and it is just fun. No healer needed.

@@miscellaneous7777 I am a light spender but only for the sole purpose of getting Jing Yuan and his LC (he is my fave). The leftover gems from the 6480 jades (with the 6480 bonus) and from the events/quests is what I used in the 300 standard pulls. I got Himeko, Welt's 5 star LC in the 300 pulls.

I use vonwacq for the extra energy over 15% def from belobog, the set also lets gepard got faster at the start of the battle so he can get some energy to shield before enemies start attacking. I also use skill quite often (my team is not skill point reliant) allowing my shield up time go through the roof, this is great for me to clear things im clearly under levelled for because i can quickly reapply any damaged shields when enemies somehow hit my tingyun 3 times in a row even with landau’s choice equipped.

The double planar event gave me a bunch of things that are blessed and cursed as the same time. It gave me Belolog's ERR rope and Ice DMG sphere (DEF% as main sub-stat). I wasn't happy at first because I need DEF sphere for my E1 Gepard, but then he carried my no-healer team until Chaos stage 9. He let no one die, my Bronya gave him more turns than the DPS-s meanwhile my Natasha - Fire Trailblazer team struggled Dan Heng, Jing Yuan, Blade who? It's Gepard supremacy era. We stan a gifted shielder, singer, gardener and painter

Well, I did build him full Def, and I want to mention one thing you are missing. With his signature, his aggro is much higher, so he generates energy just enough for the ult uptime. My gepard gives my team a 3700 shield for 3 turns, wich can't be broken, and it has 100 uptime due to enemy's attacking him. However, that doesn't synergies well with turn skipping mechanics of seele or bronya, and they can get splash hits sometimes, though it's not much of a problem cause the damage is not that big, due to positioning some damage can be dodged and the shield will come back soon anyway.

One comfy LC I've been using is We Are Wildfire. Its a temporary effect, but the damage reduction for the first few turns allows him to build energy. It fills the same role as his technique. It's very useful when you start a battle with low energy.

I always use skill over attack if I'm close to full energy and one skill is enough to fill up but one attack is not. That would require one more turn before you can ult again which is usually game over.

9:00 In my opinion, Effect RES is much more important for Gepard than EHR. Gepard is frequently targeted with attacks, so most of the opponent's skills will be aimed at Gepard. Therefore, having a high Effect RES will help Gepard avoid a large amount of Damage over Time (DoT) as well as various types of crowd control effects that prevent him from activating his ultimate originating from enemy skills. At the same time, EHR is not that good on Gepard as you might think. Spending Skill Points on Gepard's E ability continuously is not ideal, as it's better to allocate them to offensive supporters or DPS in the team. Additionally, Gepard's E ability has a mere 65% base chance to freeze opponents, making it unreliable even with a decent EHR build against bosses with high Effect RES. From my experience playing Gepard, the E ability should primarily be used for energy gain only, with its freezing capability serving as a small bonus.

Keep in mind too for fire trailblazer vs gepard - fire trailblazer provides a huge damage reduction value whenever using their skill. Despite how small those shields may seem when stacked against gepard’s, remember that they are much more effective than they seem. They already give a huge percent damage reduction just for using their skill, and with their first major passive they have an extra 15% added onto that. Their shield hp will never be as good as gepard’s, but if you need help with surviving consistent damage being thrown into your team then fire trailblazer is better.

got to this video late, but it's very informative, thank you! i got him as my first 5★ char, but with difficulty of maintaining shield uptime as mentioned in 7:38 , he didn't get built properly because 1) early game-me found that mechanic to be bothersome ("i need shields right away, march is more reliable in that aspect"), 2) most of the time i will go for fire mc instead for ease of use, and 3) farming for relics is a nightmare, as early game-me has no clue on which stats are best used for him though because i'm in the late game stage now, i decided that i will pick up on perfecting his build, after i finished with kafka cheers!

I lost my 50/50 on the kafka banner and got Gepard, but kept going and got her. Now as I'm finishing up my Kafka team (working on Luka now) I'm realizing Natasha isn't cutting it and realized Gepard would be great, so this video was very helpful

Somethings that you really should mention. If you're using Yanqing with him which lots of people do, using his skill is often times perfectly fine since you're only really using Yanqing when the enemy is weak against ice. If an enemy is weak to ice, they are never going to be freeze resistant and so far only one enemy in the game that is weak to ice has CC resistance. Not to mention those that have E1 Yanqing and do extra damage to frozen opponents. It goes even better if your team is with Pela and Tingyun since it's a very skill point positive team so using one for Gepard is really no big deal. Also, effect res traces are extremely helpful since other than subs and certain LCs it's the only guaranteed way of gaining effect res, at least until the 2pc set that gives 10% comes out. It is actually possible to reach 100% effect res and be completely immune to debuffs. Effect/Debuff res comes after all other multipliers and as a result a cool 100% means 0.

I talked about it being useful. Its terrible by itself (100% chance still) but good for when you get subs. I know how the multipliers work thanks, but we arent hitting 100 eff res.

@@guobacertified You don't need E1, with 50% effect hit rate even at C0 it's got a really solid chance of freezing enemies without debuff resistance. I've already hit 100% effect res as have some other people. With the 18% from effect res trace, the 10% effect res 2pc set coming soon and if you're healer the 32% effect res of the LC Perfect Timing, you can get to 60% without even having sub stats.

Been tossing daily jades in Imbibitor Lunae banner on the off chance of sniping an early eidolon but got even more lucky with a brand new Gepard 😊 Had to come here to see how to built him. There’s even a stack of knight pieces gathering dust in the corner after farming lightning set. Finally a reason to use them.

I have been using Gepard since the begining of the game, i can see why people run spd boots it definitely feels like a qol thing tho the higher shield is always nice ngl. The higher shield also gets much more value when your units dont have much defense like gepard, for example my Bailu takes much more dmg than gepard so she loses the shield much faster and therefore the higher shield helps. This might just be a thing with his signature lc and landau's choice tho because my other units only get hit like 30% of the time maybe. Great guide tho as usual, thanks for helping everyone! Another way to run him regarding his planar ornament would be the Ageless Fleet set with def sphere and def rope. My take on this is that Gepard while being a tank can also provide an atk buff for the whole team. Additionally since mine has the lightcone „Landau‘s Choice“ he will almost always be attacked and therefore gain enough energy. The total bonus def in this case would sit around 110%, substats not included. Otherwise i completely agree with the 4-piece set, since for the atk buff on the ornaments Gepard would need at least 120 Speed in total anyways.

I have a very similar situation and plan but I have a question regarding the second team. If I’m running ice team (geppie sw pela yanqing) and want to pull and run Kafka. Is it ok to run Kafka without a defense shredder? I love sampo and was just gonna run Kafka sampo Luka and hopefully luocha heals. Sampo Luka and Kafka all have some sort of dot buffing if I remember but I hope it won’t be bad missing out on pela or sw shredding

Some characters have inherent speed stat upgrade when you level them up. Some don't, and those are the characters you might want to put speed boots on or get lots of speed substats.

freeze works a little weird, I have both gepard and yanqing, say I freeze with gepards skill and then I also apply freeze to the frozen enemy with yanqing's follow up attack, the enemy will take damage for both freezes, this doesn't have any other effect, the freeze will be removed as it normally would just that it takes damage for both freezes from gepard and yanqing. so I wonder if gepard E2 would still work if we froze an already frozen enemy.

I have Gepard set up with two DEF Gears, two Ice Gears, and DEF Orb and Cord and his stats are Crit Rate, DEF, Ice Damage Boost, and DEF since he has a Lv. 80 Passive where his ATK is scaled by his DEF. So far he's very good to use in this setup, I need more DEF%, Crit Rate, Crit DMG to make him a better Ice Tank/DPS hybrid!

And in Sim Universe, go preservation with gepard Natasha +2 and you can auto most things. Glad I got him, I don't like the fire trailblazer and preservation units are bare, even in the future content posts I've seen.
