So...business owners are replacing people with kiosks, to save money... and the government wants more humans, so they would work and pay taxes...But to do that you need to hire those humans, give them jobs and pay them...But business owners are replacing people with kiosks, to save money... 🤔🙃

My business can only survive if I exploit my workers and have them struggle to survive. I also expect other employers to not adopt my ways as I need consumers with disposable incomes to buy my goods and servives.

I am sure most businesses aren't targeting minimum wage workers as their customers.

Gee, you should be an employer for a week. Let's see how you manage

not even $10 an hour with today's economy we won't get far with that, the bosses complain that people don't want to work but no one wants to pay wages that make sense

Get skills that pay more? I'm not even sure what constitutes minimum wage. I can't imagine working for minimum.

@@KBowWow75So who will do the basic labour that you need to survive? society can't function if everyone is a lawyer 😅🤣
@Mox207717 күн бұрын
@@KBowWow75 How about you take a reality check? Even high skilled workers are being underpaid ... Inflation and prices have gone UP UP UP the last 5-10 years but wages have not been adjusted accordingly .......Minimum wage should allow you to live comfortably but when it forces you to make choices of do you want heat or do you want to eat this week then it's not sustainable. Salaries should as a MINIMUM be adjusted according to the price index for living costs - yet never is!

Which does not matter because it's a different country with a different cost of living.

These laws end up wiping out small businesses. You end up with just big corporations and more automation. Why? Access to capital to make payroll favors big players. Bigger players have easier access to commercial loans to make payroll more consistently (because they're bigger and have more assets). And you might say, "well then so be it". But then the bigger players can also automate away these jobs because they have access to capital. And they can also buy up all the competition. And now you have fewer choices, higher prices, and fewer entry level jobs. The unintended consequences are wild and really difficult to fix.
@Mox207717 күн бұрын
so what's the alternative? Force people to work for slave labour salary that mean they can barely afford rent, food or utilities because we have to protect the small business owners? Only approach is to regulate big businesses but the second you do that, the whining howler monkeys starts crying about "governmental overreach" and "communism"

The culprit is obviously rent. If rent was affordable, retail prices would go down and people would also have less expenses. Private land ownership should be abolished and and all land must be owned by the government, only to be given out through 99 year leases.

Bosses will just decide to go solo and not hire workers or just hire 1.. end up more workers will lose jobs. Or business will close with higher labor costs. Cafes cannot afford to hire 2 workers paying $10/hr each if no customers coming in for 2 or 3 hours .

I will advise you should stop trading on your own if you keep loosing. If you can, then get a professional to trade for you i think that way your assets are more secured.
