It really bummed me out to hear the new Lego movie was CGI. I long for a 100% stop-motion animated Lego movie!!! And it's incredible what people have accomplished without millions of dollars to back them. Great video!

You missed Kastlevania 4! It is +2h lego stop motion adventure movie, honouring Castlevania series. Made by core members of finnish lego scene as thing that started their hobby. Took years for them to make (half work would had been needed if we would had known what we were doing). Thousands of euros for bricks, and their first concenrn was "how do we get lego bat?":D Sorry for advert, but you should really check it out. It is spoken in finnish, but english subs are invented:3

I could be wrong, but I believe I read somewhere that the Lego Movie is going to feature a blend of computer and stop-motion animation, but the blend will be seamless and near impossible to tell.

The sad difference is that these short lego animations are better quality, this is the kind of thing you would want to see in a movie, with more crisp, smoother movements, which makes it better come to life. But this great difference cannot be met just because it's a movie, not a short film, but there has to be a good budget to let them get these kind of animators...
