The minority who can't handle it or get addicted cause problems for themselves, their family and friends but its not an epidemic. In 2017 there were less than 8,000 deaths in the UK attributed to alcohol -related illness or disease, compared to 78,000 from smoking...

@@OldSchopenhauer It isn't the 3rd leading cause of death in the UK, Cirrhosis of the liver is 40% alcohol related and its only the 10th. I agree that college age young people will binge drink but once they are married with families and actual responsible jobs that becomes a much rarer phenomenon.

But seriously, moderately drinking poison is stupid. It's like if everyone jumped off a bridge would you do it too? If 80% of of the UK poisons themselves to some degree you'll do it too.
