I think it’s important to realize that the best you can do doesn’t mean doing so much that the content is “perfect “ persay, especially at the expense of your own mental health. It means doing what you love and doing the best you can while staying in the perimeters of your own mental health and security. I love your videos, I have always loved them, but I’d prefer to see smaller, less overworked videos knowing that you are in a better place, than see such theatrical and extensive videos that drain you. I've been watching your channel since you literally saved my Halloween with your wonderful sally make up tutorial. I TOTALLY feel you and even though I'm not a youtuber. I over analyze everything. Ive been wanting to open an art store but have been such a perfectionist on how things look I have struggled and have beat myself up on ever even starting it. My only friend is my boyfriend who is long distance and it gets pretty lonely a lot, so I really feel you there too not having a friend to even help you out in any way. I think even if you show fails and flops in your costumes and makeup tutorials or whatever your heart so desires, will help make your channel more human and happier. “Perfectionism is self-abuse of the highest order.” - Anne Wilson Schaef I relate to this video so much. I am such a perfectionist. I stopped drawing for years because my art wasn’t turning out anywhere near as well as I wanted it to and it frustrated me so much that it became more stressful than it was worth. I have picked up drawing again and have improved some things, but it’s still hard for me not to get all perfectionistic about it. This semester at school I’ve especially been a perfectionist and put way too much pressure on myself to be perfect and be “good enough.” It’s been detrimental for my mental and emotional health, which in return has been detrimental to my physical health. It’s something I’m trying to work on. Please don’t feel like you have to be happy all of the time. Your channel can still be a happy, fun, stress-relieving place when you are not happy all of the time, and it’s not healthy to try and force yourself to be happy. If you give yourself time to be something other than happy, you’ll be able to be happier than you wouldn’t. I don’t know if that makes sense, but, like, if you allow yourself to feel sad rather than holding it in, then you’ll be able to be more happy. If you hold it in, your happiness won’t be as much and will be less genuine. So yeah. Don’t be afraid to be something other than happy, and do what you need to to take care of yourself. You can’t continue to brighten our lives if you’re not well enough. It’s okay to take the time you need to take care of yourself. We want you to be genuinely happy, content with life, and well.

It makes me sad how stressed out doing KZbin full time has made everyone. Making money is a necessity so I see where it’s stressful already. Add that to the changes that affected everyone negatively and you have a recipe of personal disaster. Watchers are fickle as it is so I hope, moving forward, the creators will just do what they want. Period. Vent, rant, upload often... everything doesn’t have to be an production. 5 minutes of “today blows and here’s why” is more relatable anyway. That will make your movie style videos pop and stand out more too. You are soooooo talented and creative! I’m blown away just from your ideas alone and consider it an honor to get to watch the process. The flip side to that is also seeing the frustration and disappointment of videos not doing as well as expected when you worked so hard on it. As a mere subscriber, the advice I would give every single “creator” is to make videos that please YOU. Don’t try to make the audience happy, make yourself happy. Y’all are driving yourselves crazy trying to accomplish something unobtainable (pleasing everyone) at the sacrifice of the most important person, yourself. ❤️

I agree that sharing about mental health is important. Mid range to large KZbinrs should not feel afraid to share because being relatable is more helpful to people than putting up a 100% bubbly front. If anything it can make people feel distanced, like they'll never be as happy as their fave KZbinrs. I know when Kelly Eden started sharing her mental health struggles on her "oasis" (at the time) channel, I started relating to her and respecting her a ton for her bravery and honesty. I hope you can do the same and that your life becomes less stressful as a result!

You love film and film making and your need for perfection somewhat stems from that. KZbin is also making it hard for people to like it. They are making it hard to be a KZbinr. But your feelings of perfection are common in America and social media is only making that harder. You do great work and we come here to see your work. People who criticize you for the sport of criticizing should be ignored. You have to go with the people who give you constructive criticism. People who are feeling like you do (anxious, sad, stressed, judged) sometimes make themselves feel better by going online and trolling people like you who seems like they have it all. Remember that to many people you like you have it all. We don't see the stress and the hard work.

You are so talented, you don't need all that glitz and glam for what you do to be amazing. It's nice and fun, especially to make, but you don't need it. You're entertaining and fun to watch without all of that. I also completely understand wanting to do all that, it's the reason I've been away from my own youtube channel for a year now, just wanting to be better than I was able to put out.

Actually, thank you for posting this. I've been following you for a reaaaally long time and although now I've changed a lot (I'm not doing kawaii anymore for example), I've been feeling so horrible about myself for the past couple years because I saw you on KZbin and you were everything I wanted to be and I thought I wasn't good enough. And guess what ? We're actually so friggin alike ! Thank you for reminding us you're a human being and your life is not perfect either, of course, and it's totally ok cause you're still amazingly fun and talented from where we stand. Thank you so much for making this video. You made me realize that I was taking for granted the fact that my boyfriend is always there for me when I need help with my videos. And recently I have been making more ambitious projects and my brother is also helping me film and that’s such a huge help. Literally everything you mention is one of the reasons why I haven't got my own channel up and running. I finally had to let go of my perfectionism and not let it get in my head space. I highly recommend a book Big Magic. I think you would really enjoy it.
