The message they sent was that they will use innocent intermediaries that they will get killed at will. "Ukranian agencies" did not do this and it is not a Russian false flag or genuine internal dissent or anti Putin actors genuinely trying to change Russia. We all know who did it and we all know that they have done it before. Regardless of what you think about the victim, there is no excuse for an attack where 30+ people are injured who are not the target. And the delivery girl has no idea she is killing them.

I would like to say that this is few times that I've seen Vlad speak in the past week. I didn't know about him until a week ago when I saw him on Jake's podcast. He struck me as deeply intelligent, he thinks before he talks, and I believe that he's correct about Russia, although I don't live there or know local people so I can't say for sure. You can analyze something perfectly and still be wrong. Only because a Black Swan event happens that obviously could not be factored into the analysis It appears that's exactly what has happened. The person they are holding in custody, and for once I think they have the right person, appears to be a member of the Russian anti Putin movement. Putin Rules by nihilism. His message is basically things are bad and they're going to get worse. But it's all somebody else's fault. And he keeps threatening nukes. One thing that people forget about making threats, in Putin's case nuclear ones, they never have a plan for when people believe them. It is entirely possible that the Russian opposition has come to the conclusion that they now have nothing to lose. That Putin or this regime will eventually lead to Armageddon. They have basically been peaceful for 20 years and they just keep losing ground. They may have come to the conclusion that peaceful means don't work, everyday brings them closer to Armageddon, for most people leaving Russia is not an option and they see their lives passing by. Maybe they decided they're losing the peace So a civil war is the only hope. I have no proof that this is what's happening other than a few little events recently that leave me to believe something is cooking over there.

Your point about russian war vets coming home is something I never thought of. War vets here in the US suffer tremendously with mental health struggles. I can't imagine the mental anguish occurring in a Russian vet coming back from Ukraine. Sure there are some true believers in the war, but you also know there is a pretty big chunk that quietly hold great disdain for the war and the people pushing it and have the means to fight back. This is particularly true for the wounded or those who lost friends. They will do so quietly knowing the consequences all too well, so catching them before an act is unlikely and there will be thousands of them all over Russia as the war grinds on.

Secondly, get rid of regime critic, pro Prigozhine. Lastly, they pined the attack on a anti war pro Ukrainian girl (Strangely, dumb enough to put her face on all the cameras and that stayed there). Imagine doing it while he's still surrounded by the same people as always and still living in Islamic state. BTW, eating is easier than overthrowing dictators. The last time something like that happened in Russia was in 1917. 106 years ago. Its 4 generations of "there is nothing I can do" mentality. Year 2004. Orange Revolution in Ukraine. What was the reaction of russian population? They where laughing and repeating kremlins narrations about evil west making Ukrainians doing it. Year 2014. The Revolution of Dignity happened in Ukraine. The same reaction + a big celebration after the annexation of Crimea, while "dumb Ukrainians" were busy. To be honest, there was a protest in Russia regarding the annexation. "Нам мало Крыма" one... This "nothing I can do" mentality + huge amount of chauvinism (every russian knows hes a part of the godchosen nation. Nation surrounded by enemies and *insert slur minority names*. You know its not a joke. (and yes, "godchosen" is one word in this case)) makes it nearly impossible for them to change anything cause it would mean, they where wrong at the first place. You are seriously overestimating the amount of people unhappy with current political course in Russia. Russian population is that guy in a missive street fight. The one staying in the back, yelling "Give em ell!" without actually fighting himself. If the fight went well - +1 story about Rembo-like adventures for the "Можем повторить" album. I'm one of the Russians who have left last year, and even then, the mass propaganda has got to the level that many actually BELIEVE that Putin is right. From what I hear from my family, it is actually worse now. If you ever wonder how Germany could have gotten so bad in the 1930s to get to WW2, we are seeing it right now in Russia live action, albeit with much fewer resources to actually carry out their wants.

@@alexvsergeev ah, thank you and the others who have been replying, I guess I assumed that it is blocked and should have verified. It’s very disturbing then that people are believing the government and Russian mass media regarding the reasons for the war. However, a similar case could easily be made for the underlying justification for the 2nd Gulf war. The military situation on the ground I assume is propagandized by both sides and is to be expected, but the reasons used to justify it should be capable of being understood by reasonable people, I guess a part of the issue is that reasonable people who have the means to leave have done so, for self-preservation and that leaves either the desperate or the people willing to believe the government still inside the country, and they’re now a larger proportion of the population overall. I had such high hopes that there would some kind of rapprochement and cooperation between “the West” and former Soviet states after Gorbachev and the reforms that he started. There were definitely areas where a lot of progress occurred (thinking space flight in particular) but then the wheels came off…

In a democratic society it's expected that both the people and the gov keep each other in check leaning too much to one or the other side can cause societal instability. The sabotage resistance isn't de-politicized and is growing. They don't use internet to communicate, hence why their impossible to catch.

7:05 is a very powerful sentence and should be taken by everyone as a example, not only for russians

Brilliant and quick reaction to the event. I thought of that Russian penchant for assassination myself. My own personal analysis is that, assuming the statue contained the explosives, the purportrator had a sense of humor😉 Love your energetic appraisals.❤

Thank you for this Vlad. Once again you have put this event into context for me but I am never going to understand the madness of the times we are living through, not in my own country 🇿🇦, let alone in Europe

At the very beginning of the atrocities and the war, I thought that as a result of Russia and Ukraine being intertwined, with family across both sides, it would cause something that Putin did not foresee.. even if they can't say it out loud the people who have lost their loved ones might seek a justice.. and those associated may become targets. When you hurt someone, it takes a certain amount of maturity, understanding and restraint for them not to hurt you back. Obviously it depends on the context, in war this sometimes is not applied, due to the nature and situation.

Greetings Mr Vexler, and a good day to you, your very self! Early on in the video, you said words to the effect that there is no organized resistance or anti Putin activities in mother Russia. I agree with you that the left would not support the killing of bystanders, and this isn't in specific reference to the recent bombing, that, to me, seems more likely to be intramural or gang related, but as to overall partisan activities, there sure seems to be a lot of rails compromised, thus slowing resupply to Ukraine, true, but it slows everything else as well....perhaps including fire suppression at the extraordinary number of fuel depots, ammunition depots and arms factories that keep bursting into flames. Some of these could, and probably are, Ukrainian SF operators, but not all of them, because they're obviously not being done by professionals, it's too haphazard. I dunno, I no longer have access to any but open source intelligence and the Soviet bloc was not my area, but they just have the look of brave amateurs, not demolitions pros. You're closer to it than I am, what do you think? Be well Vlad Vexler, what you do here has more value than you yourself may know. I suffer from chronic health issues too, and you are in my (good) thoughts.

Considering the whole unspoken deal between Putin and the people is basically don't get them involved, I wonder if this could be huge for public Russian support to openly wane. I know it's unlikely but it would be awesome if this starts a domino effect that eventually ends this barbaric war.

The false-flag or intra-Z ideas makes the most sense to me. I don't understand why Ukrainian agents would target this guy if they had the ability to pull off an operation in Saint Petersburg.
