I'm halfway through atm. This is a great podcast/documentary. I Love to see videos like this, the history and background of the old FGC days, how it started and where it is at now. These kinds of things are important to have on record as the time goes by. It's easy to be lost in the history of time, so in the end we need archives like this that tell the stories from the past for potentially the next generation to look at how it was back then. I hope more in FGC from different countries and cities can save up their history before it gets lost. Great video, thanks for sharing ❤

Always wanted to know the story of District G, the idea was very solid. A comeback would be great in these times. Great video!

I wasn't really aware of the Tekken scene back then, so it's sick to hear about DG and what was going on in the UK. Sounds like we need a UK Tekken team again 👀

Very nice interview. There's a lot of parallels with DG and RIZE - for a long time I was the capital of RIZE and to this day I am down a lot of my personal money that went in to that initial startup in 2009, because I've never paid myself back those thousands I have spent (and won't). Lockdown changed a lot for a lot of people like Joe and myself, and the FGC is in a position where it's still running at mostly at a break even standpoint. Which is why you need more than just one game firing on similar levels. Content and other revenues such as bringing onboard brands who want to pay for an advertising space on Jerseys, Website, Socials, etc, is just one route, but a lot of it comes down to being realistic with your expectations of a "market" - I've never paid myself for the thousands of hours I spend in my life, and I'll continue that until it's where it needs to be to change. I'm always going to have a soft spot for people like Joe and I did consider reaching out to him once DG went away to see if we could work together. Maybe that can still happen.
