Having a dog teaches empathy and you learn how intelligent animals are. It gives you a learning experience like no other. We experienced several very protective instances with our poodles knew some men had some evil thoughts and they got away from us as fast as they could. We had several times where the dogs could read minds and body language of some guys who left us alone and one time they got off of the elevator in a fancy hotel as fast as they could to get away from the dog. We were just two women and a fairly large dog who never did attack anyone but she knew when there was a threat. Our dog loved us and would have died for us.
