Danya, bless him, should never have engaged Kramnik, because as we have seen, Kramnik will never be satisfied. And Kramnik doesn't want to be satisfied, he wants to maliciously cast suspicion on people who are performing well and achieving success. Danya has literally set up multiple cameras to show his entire room and Vlad the Implier (not my invention, but fantastic nickname) isn't satisfied, because one camera is a laptop filming things from the other side of the room. Whatever proof Danya offers will never be enough, because you can't retroactively prove definitively that you didn't cheat in a game played years ago. This is why the burden of proof is on the prosecution, who in this case is Kramnik. And his evidence is....Danya thought about playing a move Kramnik didn't think of two years ago, and he sometimes glances away from his screen when playing. The fact that Kramnik challenged Danya (but not Hikaru afaik) as though that would somehow prove something tells you all you need to know. A heads up match just proves who played better on a given day, because people are not robots. Anyway, don't entertain Kramnik. He can demand answers but he is owed none. Just tell him he's an idiot, a bully, and has a fundamentally terrible understanding of statistics, then move on with your life.

Kramnik's problem is that however brilliant his chess is it is completely traditional. It always makes sense. The best modern GM's will throw in moves that are to their own disadvantage just to throw for a loop the traditional players like Kramnik who are buried in the conventional, to ruin their prep and send them into unusual game positions. Modern GM's have watched many Stockfish type games and have learned a higher level of subterfuge and deflection than older GM's have learned. Kramnik's mind is so regimented that he can't even grasp this new level of chess.

Agree, though it's more like he's actively preventing himself from grasping this new level of chess than that he can't. All these baseless accusations are him intentionally avoiding the issues with his play when he could be confronting them and improving instead. The longer he does this (and I don't really expect it to ever stop) the more he's gonna fall behind. His blitz rating is already down 130 points since 2021 and down 170 points from his peak. This is way, way more decline than what's expected from age.

But if you're playing 84% accuracy against a GM, you're going to lose. It doesn't matter who you are, so what did he expect?
@adamvs95
@adamvs95 Ай бұрын
I've hit 90% accuracy against players of my elo (embarrasingly low). If I load up against stock fish my % goes right down. The stronger the opponent the harder it is to keep a high %. If Danya was cheating I'd expect his opponents accuracy to be lower than normal. That said, I don't think he cheated, just that it's a bad argument.
@bring-out
@bring-out Ай бұрын
@@adamvs95 That's not really a good example and I'm not sure why you think your "embarrasingly" low ELO makes you a decent arbiter of accuracy. It's true that a stronger opponent makes it harder to make the best moves, however the degree of mistake plays a huge factor in terms of accuracy, and a strong player usually doesn't make big mistakes, resulting in a high accuracy. A strong player does make mistakes against an engine but they are small compared to your big mistakes. It's not hard for a weak player to reach 90% accuracy against an even weaker player as the best moves tend to be obvious. If you hit the scholars mate in 4 moves you typically get 100% accuracy but that says nothing of your strength, really. However 84% accuracy from a GM against another GM indicates serious mistakes or blunders.
@Pullapelle
@Pullapelle Ай бұрын
I have had games over 95% accuracy. First 15-20 moves of my pet line theory, then opponent goes astray and the game lasts another 7-10 moves. Sometimes those moves are easy or even obvious. Nothing sus in Danya’s moves. Just delutional opponent.
@bring-out
@bring-out Ай бұрын
@@adamvs95 I should add as it wasn't clear in my previous post that a player of Kramnik's level playing at his normal level against an engine in blitz would reach plus 90%. 84% suggests serious mistakes below normal level.

I thought of that move, too, after learning about moves like that from GM Naroditsky's videos, where he talks about making moves like returning a knight or the queen to its original square. This is the kind of BS that turns nice and optimistic people into grouchy cynics.
@jackcristo1628

Nepo has a bad attitude and a lot of paranoia, and I know he spread a lot of fear about fair play issues and Hans, but I'd have to hear the things he actually said about Hans to know if I'd call them rumors. Hans was found to have cheated in ~50 online games using Ken Regan's very conservative methodology, including some tournament games. This means that Hans likely cheated in hundreds if not thousands of online games, as most instances of cheating would not reach Regan's standard. No one in a position of authority can really frame it this way because they don't want to be sued, but that's what those figures imply. So Nepo's fearmongering could've been grounded in reality and still been enough to make other people paranoid.

The Kramnik investigation into this is fascinating. I was initially skeptic but after watching all of it from both sides, it became increasingly clear to me that yeah Daniel is a cheater. There's a lot of people who have a hard time believing such charming soft guy would cheat, so they ignore all the evidence

One of the first computers to beat a grandmaster in chess was named Deep Fritz. The grandmaster it beat was none other than Vladimir Kramnik, but out of 8 matches he won half of them. I wonder if this affected him somehow, he does remark how he has to strive for a draw against engine abusers, could be from his score against the first machine. I also think this could explain the paranoia for engines in general, and possibly being apart of the event made him bitter.

Kramnik accused a lot peoples we know that but this time he can be right because Danya on streaming never explain his moves ahead, never explain his ideas, everytime he look away from the monitor or chat (Danya said there is wall but before every move why you have to look a "wall"), and the most important "proof" it's when one time he slipped up saying he was looking engine while he was playing a match......there are a question that Danya should answer, don't ignore this thing just because is Kramnik the accuser

Online blitz and otb blitz are completely different. Kramnik's mouse skills are so poor he starts at a disadvantage. In TT he is starting every game down 10-15 seconds on the clock. He does not have pre-move enabled. He has a huge disadvantage in every time scramble. Danya and Hikaru have huge online ratings because they win so many dead lost positions with the clock. Danya and Hikaru get hit with a great move and "start the procedure" of challenging their opponents to convert a winning position within the time allowed. That's why Hikaru farms his rating in 3-0 games. 3+1 games like in Titled Tuesday allow players more time to convert a winning position. I am honestly amazed Kramnik's online rating is so high. It is a reflection of how great a player he is by overcoming the disadvantage of his poor mouse skills.

On one hand thanks so much for another fun vid James, can't begin with anything else. You managed to slip in some humour and of the good one 🙂. On the other hand, what I find funny, is that if I were to suppose someone was cheating, I'd say Kramnik was. Because, as you pointed out, he escaped every single trap. Each time you said: _"...if captured, then comes xy, zh, and the knight with check..."_ or something of the likes, which would require quite a bit of thinking to figure out, Kramnik reacted with a: _"...so that's why it was not played..."_

Honestly, Bc1 is just the sort of move I play all the time. It's quite incredible to me that it's seen as a red flag here. My thinking would be that it keeps my Bishop on the board AND protects the b2 pawn at the same time, so double whammy. I'm genuinely amazed that this was viewed so suspiciously. It looks like the most natural world in the move to me!

Even Levy Gautham, Eric also uses engine support while playing against online players in the name of speed run.. and making fool to audiences by showing cool win 🏆… And this is the reason You all streamer Goes Against Kramnik so that again you can disguise to audience… He just said truth
