Your Razel is a ray of sunshine and I always enjoy her smile. Taking care of our aging parents can be a huge burden, but our Asian culture teaches us that it is what we must do. Sam, your sincerity really shines through on this video and your deep feelings for your girl and her family is very apparent. Best of luck to Razel and her family.

My wife passed away almost two years ago with me, her son, and her best friend at her side, from cancer. Her friend (and mine), is a psychiatrist from Venezuela. She told me it his perfectly normal to reproach yourself after a loved one dies. I think sometimes, I could have been a better husband in various ways, but I remember what my friend said, and it helps me to not be too hard on myself.

Sam I feel ur hurt! I went through all this years ago! My siblings I don't talk to them anymore they didn't help my folks at all! In fact they let their children steal from my folks! This video brought back sad memories, I'm sobbing with u as I'm trying to pound this phone! My mother died in care home and my Dad made me promise I would never put him in one! So I suffered with my Dad till his end! I absolutely know how u guys feel! To hard to comment on this anymore! I pray for ur healing with mine also! Be blessed my new friend! And of course Rachel also! Later and may God continue to bless us!

The internet allows people to be their cruel selves without effect. That is the sad part of it. Hopefully you guys can separate those self-hating idiots from your thoughts. Some are so angry and pitiful they lash out at anyone they can. Best wishes and prayers to you. Know that without the darkness there is no light. I hope you both can come out stronger in the end. Losing a parent is difficult for all of us. Don't let the people that see you for 15 minutes in a video take you down. Love and prayers.

Stay strong…you will never truly heal, but in time, the pain it will subside and never forget them. Don’t worry about those people who judged you…let it go in one ear and out the other. Take your time to grieve and when it’s time, you will know and everyone should respect your privacy. GOD Bless you and your family during these difficult times.

We love Razel and watching you two interact in all the videos. Sad that people can be judgmental and even cruel in this world. I appreciate your efforts to open up and discuss details of what is happening in her family. Family is the most important unit in life. Filipinos value family above all other things. It is wrong for people to pass judgement. Let Razel know that we support her and stand with her. Dealing with the passing of a parent or loved one is challenging. May the Good Lord give her peace, strength and comfort.

Exactly why I can say with 100% certainty, I will never have a You tube channel showing my life in the Philippines. People are a$$holes with voicing their opinions, when they only know 20% of the details. So sorry Sam for you and Razel experiencing these calloused trolls, that have no sense of appropriate things to say. God bless you Sam and Razel and sending prayers for you both.

And let them know how it’s affected Razel during her time of grieving…

I am so sorry to hear what has been going on. I am just now catching up with your videos. I thought you might have quit making them because I have not seen them for a while. You are between a rock and a hard place and there is no right answer. To put it crudely, you are damned if you do and damned if you don't. All I can offer is my condolences to you both and while that sounds hollow and shallow and even trite it is not meant that way. I lost both my parents to cancer so I can somewhat relate, but this is not about me. May God bless you both my friend.

In one of the Terminator movie Arnold said to the boy "It is your nature to destroy each other." God gave us the intelligence to feel the way no other animal can, but, we tend to use it against others. Our feelings are the strongest with those we love, but sometimes it can be a curse. The old goes, the young replaces, its just the circle of life, it will be our turn someday. Tell Razel God also gave us the wisdom to bypass the negatives, its not even worth addressing, people will "people!" There is not a day pass that I don't think of my mother who passed away 5 years ago, and that's good enough for me. I know how I feel and what I've done, I don't care what others say or do, because God is my witness. God bless you 2 and you take care of her!

They say time heals all wounds. It's no fun watching a family member suffer in their senior years. My mother has been in a nursing home for 5 years. Thinking she would die at any time has been agonizing. It seems like the one who helps the most is the one who is constantly criticized. Cut toxic people out of your life. That goes for family and friends, too. I hope you and Razel will feel better soon.

I started to cry when you did, which I totally understand why you would. My wife lost her Father too, then her mom. It's rough when you can't be there when you want. I feel for Razel's pain and I feel yours too. God bless your family. I am disappointed in people that are confrontational like that in public posts. One of the reasons I don't post on Facebook much, I suppose. I do write lots of Private Messages to my friends, as that is more personal, one on one. I don't know if it's a just the Philippines, but even the closest family members will talk shit to your face about things that's not their business. As an example, boy are you fat now, or why you so big? They also made fun of my wife when she was young, because she was so dark. Called her the "N" word ... her own family ... and she grew up thinking she was ugly. So, I want you to take it with a grain, hell, a pound of salt ... that they don't know when to "Turn it Off" and just ignore it the best that you two can. By the way, the first video I watched, was the one where you introduced Pete's new channel, Papa Bear 007. Sam, back in 1993, I met Gina's family and really got close to her Lolo Tony and soon after we got back home we heard he passed away. After the next trip, after getting home, we lost his wife, Lola. Of all the trips we have made over the years, eight in total, we have lost more and more family and friends. In 2016, when Gina's (my better half) mom passed away, we flew to Guimaras to help out with the family and be there for them. It was the first time we had the opportunity to return on a bad note, rather than bad news hitting us after we got home. It's usually a month long process (especially in the Province) where the glass, see-through casket is in the family residence. They have some weird customs, like posing in front of the casket, taking family photos, playing Mahjong and cards to all hours of the night. The family is expected to feed all the visitors for the entire month. We had a steady stream of guests, food and people from all over the Philippines, visiting the family. But, there was one thing my wife said that was more important than everyone coming to her mother's funeral, and that's all of those who took the time to know her, visit with her while she was still here. This is one of the things that motivate me the most about retiring in the Philippines. To be with family from my wife's side, which I have gotten to know over the years and I feel close too, knowing most of the young ones, when they were just babies.
@SAMLAMB7 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment and encouragement Pete. In Razel’s province it’s 9 days of people coming to see her mom, she has to feed them as they stay all nite…some lady donated 5kilos of fish yesterday and Razel fed all the people today with the fish…5 more days of showing respect to her mom and then the funeral. I know it’s tough on Razel. She just went through this with her dad last month…Razel doesn’t know if she will ever be able to go back home again..for the first time when she goes back home no one will be there…

I tell my friends, and family you feel good after paying your bills. Telling your friends, and family they're loved by you is paying your bills. I died in 2009, and where I was (purgatory) I didn't want to come back to this cruel world, but my (deceased) grandmother said I had to go back, it's not my time yet. Everyday I pay my bills to keep me warm should they be called before me. Victory to Jesus! PS I learned to get baptized (we must choose it, not born into it) to be a named child of God. Life after death is real, it's beautiful, it's family, is peace, and until we are called we save as many as we can as soldiers of God, kings of the promised, and preachers of our Savior
