I notice I have been incredible unhappy since living here and the food as you said just not right at all. I have noticed my health is just not the same. I love how honest you were with this. Depends on how you define quality of life and the stage and phase your in. I can tell u if Jamaica is able to get their economy sorted out and control crime there would be a wave of people returning. America is fast becoming a less attractive, less appealing place for many. Still grateful for the opportunities that I’ve been granted here but it’s fast becoming a hamster wheel and disconnected society. The day will come when most Jamaicans wish they could return but won’t be able to afford Jamaica. The future has a strange way of changing trajectory.

Wow! Just wow! Glad so far you are able to go into a white neighborhood and walk around without being shot. Glad you are moving up in your job without being the token black. Glad you are having your best life not having to worry about being killed/harassed by the police if you drive a nice car. Glad that you don't have to worry about mass murders or being shot and killed just going to church, going to a supermarket, going to the movie, sending your children to school. Plenty of people have traveled and lived abroad and moved back to Jamaica and living their best lives. Jamaica is moving into a developed country where outsiders are moving there and investing and living their best lives and just waiting for the day when the Logistics Hub is buzzing and Ja becomes as wealthy as Singapore. From an older and perhaps wiser head, I would encourage you to think wisely as I also encourage my families in the USA and Canada, to get your piece of land in Ja asap, that you will not lose out on the upcoming opportunities in Jamaica.

I’ve been planning to move back down and when I started speaking on it openly, some people think I’m crazy. I’m in Canada and idk it’s just depressing. Like yea Jamaica hard but i always say, you’ll see the poor struggling in Jamaica but still find joy out of life. Over here it’s like you just a work and work …. And work ……. And work 😂😂 And go out here and there but jah jah, anuh the same thing man. Worst when winter start roll in ! Jeezzz 😒🥺

Jah know bro, I do need that mental break too and that takes a lot of guts and whatever you use which I can’t find yet, because the thought of losing and still have bills feels like I would start over from scratch. You have family to help out sometimes then other friends who you can’t help sometimes and you say no they don’t know. And it’s like when I use to make less I did feel better but more money I make I realize the more shit I got!😢

It’s stressful if you don’t live within your means. Work hard and remember to take the time off for yourself and family. The state plays a roll in how you live too. Just find the right living situation for you and all will fall in place as long as you have perseverance and the will to make shit happen.

I know how you feel, I normally visit the US and spend a few months, and within 2 weeks I am ready to come back to JA, homesick and feel unhappy, like fish outta water; always lose weight coming back. I feel more comfortable a yard. My dad is a good chef can make the fresh water fish take like its from the sea, however it does not taste the same as when he did it back home. Your talking truth Jaii🤩
