When did ever a WWE press conference has advanced more storylines than a PPV or house show? Never. Rock turning heel, siding with family, slapping Cody, dropping F bombs. The promos and vibe felt so surreal and unreal. The fact is fans have more questions than answers makes the storyline more compelling, intriguing and absolutely unpredictable. Storytelleing at its best. WWE has gained more momentum with a press conference than any promotion did with a PPV.

This story has taken a turn for the better and I have to admit this segment is superbly nuanced. The Rock has not turned heel. He has taken his rightful place as the Head of the Table. I'm shocked people haven't actually looked at the details of the family tree. Roman is a part of the family but The Rock is actually a named High Chief which means he's basically, just by being present, just usurped Roman as the Head of the Table. Even the segment after this The Rock takes the lead in speaking to Triple H and Roman assumes the role of an underling. Man I'm impressed as I love subtle storytelling like this.

All of these little moments on TV are set up for the promo package before the match the night of WM, and they have invested too much in him. Not to mention they have a real moment from 10 years ago about what happens when a former WWE superstar turned Hollywood actor comes in and takes the fan favorite's WM spot, and they could easily and purposefully build a story around that.

I could be wrong but I don't think it was a full blow last minute change either. I think (like most things) the truth is somewhere in the middle. I think the epic staredown at smackdown was definitely putting the feelers out there, and while the Birmingham crowd gave a pretty decent pop, the rest of social media went nuts particularly Cody fans. Rock noted before the press conference on the MCafee show that he was aware of the potential pushback. So my take is they already had 2 plans in place based on the response and indeed I'd say the right one was made, tho I definitely do still wanna see Rock vs Roman battle it up someday, I do think if/when it finally happen it could be a classic. But unfortunately we may never get that now since it seems this may have caused a lot of damage to Dwaynes image going forward. Hopefully not. Then again if it is to ever happen I guess it's creatives job to give us the proper story

I love ur videos agree with u that it doesn't matter if this wasn't the original plan but I do disagree with u that this wasn't the original plan. The first reason is that Cody didn't have a chance to talk to drew because drew just attacked, the second reason is that Sami came out and acknowledge that Cody needs to face Roman and the second is that drew basically called him a coward for not facing Roman.
