Would include adequate ventilation to outside air in new office as it will be roasting in the summer up in that roof space.

I can’t see the point in spending out on the upstairs office when you have an office. Surely it would be more worthwhile investing the money into replacing equipment so your work is at an even higher standard?
@stujones99764 сағат бұрын
I don't understand his business model. 1. An engine reconditioner doesn't make money in an office. 2. Updating the machinery to be more productive which inturn will create better tech content for his channel. 3. Spending business money on an E30 and Escort van before updating machinery

Don't just have exposed padlocks on the container or the standard weatherproof one. Get/Make one with horizontal keyway that you access from below. It makes key insertion tricky, *BUT* makes picking harder see lockpickinglawyer for how easy it is to pick lock. *Also* look at adding container as another zone on alarm
@Simon-ui6db9 сағат бұрын
and avoid masterlock like the plague
@robertallan1800Сағат бұрын
you should allow for heating and / or ventilation in the container, they tend to "sweat" making iron things rust and fabrics rot!
@johnnuttall61128 сағат бұрын
ok first Air flow in that container as condensation will prevail and earth bonding will be required second do check with your local fire brigade before you build that timber office they might offer some suggestions before you tell your insurance all so you'll likely need planning permission for the container

I reckon you need to build a road race MK1 Ford Transit SWB with the York "snout", Cossie 2.9 V6 and computer controlled gearbox from an Ultima Scorp, XJ Jag back axle, Granada 4 pot calipers and discs and some lary wide American mag slot wheels with wheel arch spats to give it that "Fandango" look :D

Would it not be easier to have a brick building put up where the wash bay is with a roller shutter door? It would be much more secure than a container? Unless you need planning permission? Just a thought though. Plus I’ve noticed a few KZbinrs have had premises broken into and items stolen. That’s why I thought a brick building might deter even more than a container?

My advice re the container is to store work that you haven't started... and your own stuff, I would be very wary about putting completed jobs in there, and most definitely don't mention in videos what might be in it.... most companies I watch tend to do delayed release on videos so that people don't know what vehicles or goodies might be hanging around in thier units...... And definitely make sure that your insurance is well up to the potential value of what might be in storage

Way back in the summer of 1980 I stripped my (?)1300cc Austin Healy Sprite Sports car engine - I was about 22years old. I’d bought it only a fortnight before for not much cash and soon realised some big end bearings were hammering g away. I had no training but I used to watch my neighbouring farms mechanic stripping his tractors and his Ford Anglia and Jag 3.8 based Jalopy cars. I think I got the crank reground and rebuilt it with new shells. And amazingly it seemed to run quite well. I sold it soon after so never knew how long it lasted or if the crank bearings gave up again et etc! Hard to believe that was 44 years ago..

Lee what in the mezzanine in the machine shop? That would be an excellent cleaning and blasting area

I’d like to say I do enjoy the channel and I liked Lee’s matter of fact delivery on this episode. The stupid ambiguous click bait title is annoying but only a bit. Let’s be honest Lee is a bit of a ‘Captain tricky’ as a person with his not entirely neuro nornormal mental health constitution. But I forgive the click bait. It’s quite funny how much doing this infuriates some of the audience!😂. I myself am a high functioning bipolar diagnosis. And finally in my sixties I’ve got it under control. In my worst depressions I thought long and hard about how to end my life. It’s horrible being there. It’s f ing horrible. I have four children and now 5 grandchildren. Topping yourself is not an option. So I will prob watch every episode. And aside from the technical content which I much enjoy I do salute Lee for opening up about his mental health etc. Men need to open up, talk and get help. I heard an amazing stat the other day ; more men die from suicide in this country than women die from breast cancer. A pretty sobering stat. One request don’t refer to say the V8 (please identify it as the RoveV8 or Merc or whatever it is) and don’t say just say L24 or something, qualify it as a Toyota 2.4 L24 or whatever it is. So many in the audience can’t ID the engine from just something like ‘the L24’. Honestly guys its just verbal laziness. Anyway onwards and upwards Lee, John and Issac. If I’m ever down your way I’ll pop in and say hello if you are around.
