First of all, Neymar doesn't have a big ego. It's not an ego battle. Neymar is very humble and people who knows him can tell. That's why Neymar and Messi are so close friends. Messi is a very humble guy too. Mbappé is jealous of Neymar, his happiness and life style. He wants him out of PSG. I'd love to see Messi and Neymar back to Barcelona. After all the bad things Mbappé said about latin american football affirming that european football is above all I think he learnt his lesson today after being defeated by Argentina. While Mbappé skill is admirable and he's a magnetic person (intelligent, well spoken), he also has an arrogant side that he doesnt bother keeping in check anymore. Hes always been kind of mischievious and ready to push other ppl buttons (and thinking he can get away with it), and it's been rather harmless so far, but lately it has flared and just transformed into full blown arrogance. People praising him all day and all night (specially french ppl) did him a disservice I think. It conforted him in thinking he's superior to literally anyone else, and that he "deserves" spotlight 24/24. You can only forge you own downfall with that mindset. Now, he's still young, and he's smart. I can only hope that he gets out of this phase humbled. If he can learn humility, and if he keeps honeying his skills...then yes, he'll walk the path of truly legendary players.

The whole messi vs ronaldo thing was banter for them. He even said that through the years they remained friends and fans kept the battle between them. But that they also made eachother better and pushed eachother.
