I agree with everything you’ve said. We live in the UK but retiring in the Philippines in less than 2 years time where I came from originally! But as you’ve said too- there are lots of beautiful places in the UK. We live in Scotland and you can imagine how beautiful the scenery here but you need lots of money to live the lifestyle that you can have in the Philippines. Nice perspective. There was another couple vlogger who stayed for awhile in Boracay but later they travelled to Cebu and Iloilo with the goal of looking for a permanent location where they'll settle down. Despite of the typhoon Odette, it didn't deter you to leave Philippines for good instead you feel more home, that's really amazing. Enjoy whatever Siargao have to offer. If you ever build a permanent home build a structure that is typhoon resistance and not so close to the water in case there's water surges to be more in the safe side. After seeing the aftermath of catastrophic hurricane happen in Florida USA just past few days ago the scene reminds me of your video during typhoon Odette.The damage of hurricane there and the damage during super typhoon Odette looks same. I admire your bravery as a couple and as a family during that time since it’s hard to be brave on something which you’re not used to and the effort you’ve done in helping the community as well to rebuild their lives is commendable. The other reason that I admire you as a couple and family is that you promote goodwill and good things most of the time especially your every travel in Mindanao. There’s the cost of living, commodity prices, climate and just everything esp. living in the province. It’s really affordable living in the Philippines if you’re earning dollars and vloggers like this family are doing very well in terms of income. Even foreign retirees are choosing the country because they know a lot of differences. They can still travel anywhere, go back to their country for a visit anytime and can still afford the luxury. The reasons why most foreigners decided to settle in the country. Meanwhile the locals are dreaming and looking forward to work abroad to earn a better living, save for their future. Most of them go back to retire because of same reasons the foreigners found in the first place

It is truly freedom of choice, and what you have chosen for your life & Story's future is something that many can only dream of. I grew up in the Phil,and now in CA, living in the city, is so chaotic. I escape to beautiful National parks/local nature trails here in CA just to be grounded & feel connected in nature. This is what life is all about, need to have that balance in order to be in higher vibes of LOVE & PEACE. There's a major awakening & shift WW since the shutdown, w/c is truly what the world needed to realize what they have missed in a hustle & bustle, and learn to slow down to connect w/in & find one's purpose. You think that the shore and rock pools which Story loves are safe? Cone shells, Stone fish, Scorpion/Lion fish, Spiny orchins, Blue octopus... The trick is knowing the dangers of the sea in order to recognize and neutralize them.

Looks absolutely idylic. Been going to the Philippines since our honeymoon/meet the in laws in 1977 and have just returned to the UK from there. I would love to live over there 6 months a year. We have a plot of land in Bulacan, but I'd prefer to be on the coast. I thought there was too much emphasis on dogs (btw about 10,000 dogs are infected with rabies in the Philippines each year) and had to have a laugh about traffic violations in the UK without you mentioning how traffic violations are "negotiated" with Filipino police LOL! I agree about crime and safety. I feel more safe in Manila than I do in London and Filipinos are on the whole, absolutely amazing and so friendly.

Why there are a lot of vloggers in the Philippines. Well, the opportunity is here. This is also the location where you have easy access to different countries to vlog and cheaper to go back. As Story needs to study is also a consideration to take. Cost of living consideation, your location is way cheaper. If you want Story to study in a British School /University it is available here. FinnSnow has already bought a property in Dumaguete and will soon build a house. Becoming a Filipino has bought a land in Cateel and built a house now. He can go to North in Luzon in Laoag, to Baguio to Cebu..etc. Yes, UK is beautiful, the Architecture, the countryside..a lot of things to visit...Very lovely. You can visit UK once in a while or Europe. I am also looking forward to travel to Europe, like Holland, Norway, Germany, England, Switzerland...that is a lot of money to save..hahaha.
