I was born on the outskirts of Texas
you know my daddy was a hard working man, drinking awake ...
leaving my mom for that hooker blues
I grew up with mama along that river...
and my mama, mama died when i was seven years old,
i grew up with an old Indian called 'black follow owl''....
he treated me l like his own son and taught me how to handle a knife,
the 'Apache Blower'....
yeah I rode..... a wild appaloosa.. i was mean, nice tender loser....
rode in to a damn city light there i took my guitar and sang my songs about,
about the Indian trail of tears .. about the Indian trail of tears, Indian trail of tears!

Now here I am all alone somewhere on a empty train station with a new song
and I feel the blues comin' up and I wish I was down in the land... the land of trail of tears
I have to go back where i left so many tears... roiling, rolling rolling down down
roling, rolling rolling down down down down.... the trail of BITTER TEARS
me and my guitar and my dreams...................................................................
and there will always be a TRAIL OF BITTER TEARS!

The words are like rolling tumbleweeds in a desert where demons are hiding but this rover knows where to stand up and fight, agnostic for a reason, bitter tears for the indigenous, the defenders of nature, seems complicated anyway...
