So, information is highly confidential at work and no cell phones are allowed. However, after hours, you’re allowed to use your personal cell phone to conduct highly confidential business. Got it. Love this stuff. It’s so true.

The United States does not have laws forbidding employers from contacting employees after work hours yet.
@warthog47312 күн бұрын
@@richardmoo9066Some European countries already tell employers they can't contact employees after hours or when they're on vacation unless they have the consent of the employee. They are prohibited from retaliating in any way if the employee doesn't want to be contacted after their stated work hours. Other countries treat employees so much better and give them way more respect. Working in the U.S. sucks.

What your boss is describing is an on call worker. On call workers are paid (at least in part) while on call, and get full pay if they're actually called (for any reason). There are also rights and protections that come with being an on call worker, such as limits to how many days in a row someone can be on call. This is important since a worker can not fully rest while on call. For example, they can't have dental surgery, or go on a weekend vacation, or even drink at a party, because they have to remain work ready at all times. There also have to be restricted hours for being on call, because otherwise the worker may not get the opportunity to get enough sleep, which can cause work related accidents, as well as traffic accidents, heart problems, and other things that no one wants to deal with.

Soooooo, you want me to work faster, harder for pennies more in 8 hours. That means, more stress and possibly being set up to fail because "life happens" but yall still want goals to be met so that you can satisfy the clients and the higher up's get big money while the people at the bottom of the food chain gets pennies and stress. No thank you, I'm cool with where I am at.

Funny how actual sports coaches don't require they're players to be available 24/7. Players have to go to practice and games and maybe a couple other related events, but that's all. There also aren't ridiculous amounts of practices and games scheduled where players have no time for anything else. If companies want to use the term "team player", then they need to be better team coaches and owners.

Normal awake hours for average people is something like 7am until 10pm. That’s 15 hours. 15 hours multiples by 7 days per week is 105 hours. If you work 9-5, that’s 40 hours per week, including possibly 1-3 hours of drive time per day. We will be generous and just say 2 hour per day. 50 hours out of 105. So out of 105 hours per week of awake time, your family gets 55. Work gets 50. Fucking insane that they also expect to be able to get a hold of you at any time, and also occasionally want more than 50 hours of your time.

When is the last time you heard someone being hired with any perks? Like the 1970’s maybe 1980’s but that’s all loooooonnngg gone

Just play the Reverse Uno and sue for breach of contract. Contract lays out your available hours, and you'll have phone/email records of the employer trying to get you to perform work-related tasks outside of the agreed-upon hours. Conversations like the one in the video may be used to establish premeditation, and juries tend to award punitive damages when employers try to coerce their workers into submitting to contract violations. I had an employer who tried playing these games with me once, and they are still trying to financially recover.
