This is a genuine work of art. It was created in a time when people had time to watch real television.

Here's the quote..."The Real West Intro (1992) "In the past that is now lost forever there was a time when the land was sacred and the ancient ones were as one with it, a time when only the children of the Great Spirit were here to light their fires in these places with no boundaries. When the forest as thick as the fur on a winters bear When a warrior could walk from horizon to horizon on the back of the buffalo. When the desert was in bloom and the streams pure as freshly fallen snow. At the time when there were only simple ways I saw with my heart the conflicts that were to come... And whether it would be for good or bad What was certain... There would be change."

Saginaw Grant's opening narration is so peaceful and humbling of this great show. Coupled with Kenny Roger's narration throughout the show made this so epic. I miss this show and the time when it came on.

In the late 90s I used to stay over on Friday nights with my grandparents. My grandpa was an old cowboy and a WWII veteran. In 1998, diabetes took his left leg below the knee so dad got him DirecTV. More than a few times during the last couple years of his life on a Saturday morning I’d wake up to him watching this on The History Channel.

I've always wondered if this is an ACTUAL quote. Did some Native American like Sitting Bull or Geronimo actually say this? I would like to find out the author of this quote, or is it just a general statement, not voiced by any particular person? I adore this series and everything about it. Very informative, and very well written and presented. I learned a lot from this series, and others like it back when the History Channel did History, but, of course, that's history.

Best I could find back in the day was that it was likely composed for the show. I couldn't find any credit for it.
