Coaston makes the same argument to Saagar, which he agreed to, that Krystal makes. Both say that Trump had more centrist popular promises during the campaign which he chose to abandon to emulate Cruz/McConnell. That isn't what happened. Trump didn't have any other options when Pelosi decided that they would give him no cooperation on anything.

Congress had a bicameral Republican majority for the first two years of the trump adminstration alongside a majority on the supreme court. And in those years, Trump dropped his promises of infrastructure, healthcare, raising taxes on the wealthy, etc. I grant that Democrats have not been super eager to collaborate, but putting all the blame on Pelosi strikes me as a bit of a misread

Coaston seems to tilt towards Bernie, which is amusing given how utterly dead his campaign is. *I'm generally willing to hear Coaston out about her politics, but seeing her checking her phone numerous times during your interview was incredibly rude.*
