I worked for an Australian novelist who also writes movies. I created a new language for elves in that novel. The guidelines in that project were very very specific. As an undergrad Marketing student, watching all this makes more sense to me. Even as a student, whenever we have campaign building projects, we at least start working 3-4 months before final submission, its a long process. And professional marketers take years to build a successful ad campaign.

I want to share my personal experience. I work with a brand (who shall remain unnamed), we launched a TVC in May in which a guy was breaking the vehicle’s glass but we had to take it off air because of Imran khan’s arrest some mobs vandalised police vehicles. Just so that the ad doesn’t relate to the incident that took place.

I work for a huge company in the west can’t disclose the company name but our ads campaign for next August are going through planning phase. I can completely relate what you’re referring, a lot of research, planning and money put together to make the ad campaign success. However whenever our company find any ad campaign controversial we either don’t release it or postpone it. The objectives of ad campaigns is to create awareness of brand, bring traffic to website, app and store and attain brand loyalty but none of these are achieved through M&S and Zara ad campaign, so it was just about showing to whom they stand with and killing of thousands of Palestine innocent children, men and women is ok but have different view when they were asked about Ukraine. Killing of innocent people is not justified anywhere but it good that now world knows how hypocrite these brand are.

these brands are way more capable of scrapping things off last min if it doesn’t fit the current narrative (which they do). many movies, ads and videos pass through pipelines and eventually the board of directors which approve of such things especially in these big corporations, trying to say its not just some “independent” artist or director that can publish such material it passed through all checking and then approved.

I graduate from uni in 2024 and I have been planning for my dress since 2021, but of course if I gain weight or lose weight, or if it rains on the day of the grad ceremony, then my dress will change and get altered, right? Because I will do things mauqay ki manasbat say. Even if you have invested tonnes of time and resources to something, when it comes to executing it, you have to be wary of the present time.
