Giving up coffee is huge. I think you need to get a routine established. Get up at a reasonable time in the morning so you can get a workout in, take care of your work and have some time in the afternoon for some playtime/decompression. I know it's hard to talk yourself into going to bed before midnight, but a fixed schedule will do wonders for your headspace. Love the videos, Sarah! I started living alone at 17 (technically 18, but that's when I officially moved out of my parents' place). The initial thrill of independence made things seem simpler... and, they kind of are, unless, of course, you're relying on someone else for things like rent/bills. However, after a while, the solitude can sneakily play tricks on your mind. Beyond the cliché advice of self-care, I'd strongly recommend actively making friends, engaging with people, and expanding your social circle. Trust me, as someone who cherishes alone time, I've learned that at 30, having a support network you can rely on is invaluable. I wasn't even aware I was struggling with depression, but actively making friends and expanding my social circle played a significant role in helping me overcome most of it. At this point, I'm almost never depressed. Much love to everyone and wish you all the best in everything you do. YOU ALL GOT THIS!!!

I was living alone since the age of 18, because that's when I started college. I'm 28 now, and I came to live with my parents to give a shot at my life with them as an adult, and I can't believe all the things I accomplished in less than a year. From buying a great car, to solving a knee problem my mom had that was always in my head, and being more socially active than ever. What youtubers like Denmo say is 100% true. You need to move out from your city and parents house, not stay in your comfort zone, and take care of yourself and your life, because that experience truly changes you, but once you have all that figured out, I truly recommend to give your "old life" a shot, and see how things change now that you're an adult, to just enjoy life for a couple years, maybe save money to buy your own place, start some projects while helping your parents. The only downside is that things change. They're not going to be the same as they were when you were a teen. It may be for the better, or it may be for the worst. If things are bad and boring, and you are not willing to make an effort to regain part of your old life, you always have the option to go back to your apartment.

Great video, its incredibly relatable. I've been living alone for the past 1-2 years in Brooklyn NY. The first year was filled with excitement but something felt missing. Recently out of nowhere I would get these waves of depression. Having a good balance with social time and house chores really helps. Ups and downs alone is really a thing. What you can do is go to some sort of hobby club every week or two. Another idea is to make plans with family to meet up every week. Before I moved, i got to visit grandparents, aunts, cousins and uncles every Saturday. We'd have board games, take walks, watch shows, and make food together or we'd each bring our own foods.

My parents let me stayed in our vacation home alone when I started to working in mid May when I was 18 going on 19 years old. They did come to visit on the weekends. The house was our vacation home for number of years. I even had a cat with me to keep me company. I think that I won’t get homesick too much with him. This cat was a very good cat. The place that I used to work at was just down the road from the house. I just rode my bike towards my job. When I worked after 2pm to closing shift that I walked to my job and back home. I do missed the place. I didn’t have a car back then or a driver’s license. It was a fun job. I always did try to have fun or even joked around with my co-workers. That was the late 1980’s.
