I have been an avid bass fisherman for over 40 years now, and I consider Mr. Hack one of my true inspirations. What a genuine southern gentleman. I’m from southern Ky, (Dale Hollow, Lake Cumberland) and I relate to his origional style of tight cover fishing from traveling to other lakes. But to see him transform and adapt defines him as one of the most, if not THE most versatile bass fisherman of my time. Thank you, Z. Your guest list is so impressive, and to see how you two react with your guests makes these interviews so addictive and impressive. I got to be a Marshall on Rayburn with Hackney the very first time I had ever been a marshal. I was a nervous reck and I thought it was one of the most intimidating people on the tour. Boy was a wrong. I swear he never stopped talking the entire day, he told me everything he was doing, what he was seeing, and everything in between. He was the absolute best person to be around.

My top 3 favorite angler of all time. I love the fall opens idea though… my fav time of year to fish, great weather, a grinders derby, it’s anyone’s game! Start somewhat north in sept, October in somewhere like Kentucky lake/buggs/ chick, and November in Chick, G-Ville, Seminole.

I'm not a tournament angler but one thing that drives me crazier than anything is someone else coming up on me or straight up cutting me off! I never cut anyone off or come up on them. If someone is already on spot I was planning on going. I go elsewhere. I stay as far away from everyone as possible! I'm a kayak angler, I remember one day a guy in his boat came straight up cut me off. Came from across the lake to 15 feet in front of me fishing same direction I was already headed. Then I ended up catching 2 good fish behind him that he saw. He even had nerve to ask me how I was catching them. I would have been honest if he wasn't a dusch. I told him I was using a Speckled Razzle Dazzles.. IDk where that came from but it just came out. He looked at me funny,went on his was. I bet he went home tried find some... or he eventually figured out I was feeding him some BS , sense he pulled a dick move ??
