Need a spin off with her, her world in that reconstruction era is not written about enough and its much more interesting to me 🥰

Agreed 👍🏾. Just like Shonda Rhimes did with Queen Charlotte.

HBO's portrayal is both enlightening and thought-provoking, offering a deeper understanding of the resilience and influence of the Black elite in shaping American history. Highly recommended !

As a tour guide for the Green-wood Cemetery, Brooklyn. NY circa 1838, I can attest to the fact that the black elite flourished. Their Memorials are a testament to the fact.

This show is a winner. I love that this show also has a storyline around her character/the Black Elite. I was hooked from the first episode. If you haven't seen this show, put the series on your watchlist. Great cast overall. Can't wait for the new season!

There's a lot of points of view/history I was unaware of. I thought black people were "slaves" until the 1920s. It is a shame we did not get more positive depictions of blacks in the 1930s and even today.
