I mean, he’s not wrong. Mouse control is not muscle memory, that’s why cracked aimers given a couple minutes to adjust can be successful with both high and low sens. It’s really all about the conscious actions you make with the mouse while tracking flicking switching etc (while tracking, if you fall behind the target, it takes recognition of the issue and conscious effort to fix the problem) I’d reevaluate the way you practice and train because if you think your aim is all up to muscle memory, you probably don’t have very good aim

@@watuh2054 Extremely good aimers changing sense to something completely unfamiliar makes them worse as well. Its just them at %80~90 is still better than 99.99% of players. "Conscious actions" are generally bad, as they require more time and often lead to slight hesitations. You want your reflexes/subconscious to take over, that's why you do aim training. To ingrain your sense into muscle memory, so you can subconsciously make the correct aim adjustments quickly. There's even something that generally defines these sorts of skills called the 4 stages of competences "unconscious incompetence, conscious incompetence, conscious competence, unconscious competence" the last stage being the major goal. You can apply this to almost any part of cs, utility/aim/positioning. But if you actually think constantly change your settings is helpful in anyway to your aim, maybe you should try actually getting fully used to a sense you use before blaming it for whiffing. Its often a really bad habit for players.

@@troublishoneI’m not saying to change your sensitivity on a whim. I do agree that a player should find a sensitivity and stick with it, that’s what I do, but what I was getting at is that someone who already has good mouse control will be able to display that at both a high and a low sensitivity. That’s why players like shroud for example can pop off on cs and then jump into something like like apex or warzone or Overwatch and still have incredible aim; it’s because his mouse control is ridiculous. And yes, you’re correct about the 4 stages of competence, but notice there’s still two steps there that require conscious effort. Of course it’s not ideal to tell yourself every single aim adjust you need to make before you do so, but the majority of players are not “subconsciously competent”. Those are the pros, which we are not. The rest of us peons most certainly should be putting active concentration on our actions because that’s the only way to build them into subconscious habits. If you never knew what a micro flick was, for example, you’d have no way to apply that subconsciously because you never even recognized the mechanic. When aim training, you should actively be focused on your targets, while also having an internal dialogue with yourself. If you over flick, make sure you notice it, same with an under flick, and same with my original tracking analogy. All of those conscious actions build up over time into subconscious habits, but you can’t expect yourself to have those subconscious habits if you aren’t already at the highest level of play

@@troublishoneand if you think I’m talking out of my ass about being comfortable on a spectrum of mouse sensitivities, look beyond cs and tac shooters and research some guys who exclusively aim train, like MattyOW. A common strategy guys who grind aim scores like use is to switch their sensitivity to fit whatever scenario they are playing. While this can be considered “gaming the system”, you still need to have good mouse control to show proficient aim at differing sensitivities.

@@watuh2054 Your points seems to have shifted to trying to convince me that players can have "proficient aim" at different sensitivities. That is true. But they still rely on their muscle memory, as they practice these sensitivities for this. The simple reality is, muscle memory is in no way a myth. Its one of the most ridiculous statements I've seen in relation to aim practice. which is the point of my comment. It doesn't even seem like you disagree that muscle memory is a thing, simply that there is also fine motor control + coordination as well, which is also true. But again, the statement that muscle memory is a myth is SO silly.
