I have this rod and it’s my favorite. It’s lighter and more sensitive than my other graphite composite rods. And the power & action is perfect. I’m excited to hear about the deep cranking rod!

Hey Mr wheeler I have heard just nothing but fantastic reviews on your signature series rods and you sold me I'm Jacob I have not heard even one bad review about and that's very rare I'm 57 yrs old and I live in Missouri I love the handles on both casting and spinning rods . Congratulations on your new baby in the family sorry it took me so long to come around I have medical issues and I think you're rod's are going to make me feel more comfortable fishing out on the water 💦 God bless you and your family your pal fisherman Mike ps I know it's never going to happen but boy I wish I could go fishing with you for 1 day on the water I know you have a very busy schedule have a great year out on the tournament trail.

It took me a while but i finaly found my favorite rod I have tried so far. A 7'1" graphite rod. best rod i ever had. So good I managed to get a 33lbs Northern Pike on it without a hitch :)

It would be awesome to see you getting pigs in a Kayak. That 7’2” is my go to for all on the Yak.

Thank you for taking the time to explain your fishing rods. I have been wanting to get one and was not sure what to get. I just got my first bass boat out here in Delaware so I need to start getting some tackle. Enjoy all your videos!! Just wait until your daughter starts going with you. I have a 8 year old girl and it is a blast!!!

Yet another phenomenal JW series rod. I have this one as well. I love this rod but interestingly it sounds like I use it differently than Jacob. I actually find I have a tough time casting the shallow water / smaller cranks (dt6 size, shad raps, etc) with this rod, but it frickin launches a 6XD or DT12, so thats usually what I have tied on. (also I seem to rarely get on a good shallow crank bite which probably has something to do with it.)

Jacob, does Duckett fishing make its own blanks? If not, do you know the blanks the utilize. More great content sir.

These videos are awesome! Already own 3 of these and they are excellent rods! Can you do a video on the 7’2” MH? That’s the one I’m interested in for my next rod.

I use a duckett Silverado 7ft. Medium. I love it. It works for me. Before that I had a bps cranking stick. Before that a st croix.

Do you think glass cranking rods are a good choice for under 12 foot divers or just a good choice in general ?
@MrRoccosaurus3 жыл бұрын
Could you do an electronics video on what you would recommend at different price points? Budget setup, middle of the road, and a high end setup. You always talk about what you’re running but 90% of us can’t afford your setup.

Really good point! I can definitely add this to the list. Thank guy for the comment.

Are there any ceramic or ceramic composite rods you prefer?

Would this rod be good for a dt8 or dt10 I want a rod for those baits only.

You could always supplement a graphite rod that you use for cranking by going Braid to a Monofilament leader. The stretch of the mono will give you the delayed reaction just like a graphite/glass composite rod will
@Washyourbellybutton3 жыл бұрын
Mono floats and kills the depth of crankbaits.

Jacob, are you using 15lb fluorocarbon for this rod and do you use this rod for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits also?
@WheelerFishing3 жыл бұрын
Normally 12lb Fluor but I’ll go up to 14-17 lb line or as low as 8 if I’m trying to get the bait deeper

I am think about getting a frogging rod. What should I get? I am going to get a Silverado but I do t know what specs to get. I thought I would just do a 7,3 or 7,6 heavy, fast action, but I have heard you say you use a 7,0 medium heavy. Why?
@daltonjohnson28183 жыл бұрын
You cannot walk a top water with a long rod unless your over 7 feet tall or your rod tip will hit the water when working your bait
@WheelerFishing3 жыл бұрын
I would recommend the 7”3 heavy for all around frog fishing. I usually use a 7”6 heavy when I’m fishing Lilly pads or fishing matted grass flats with a frog though
