IU was my celebrity crush for a long time, and I'd listen to her songs on repeat despite not knowing what they meant. I always felt that she was emotionally mature and her mannerisms always felt charming in a way, as if she had a lot to tell and a lot to learn from. The more I learned about her, the deeper my respect and admiration for her resilience and toughness. Its a constant reminder of how much we as a society can improve and stop people from having to go through such difficult lives. Props to then narrator, your commentary and tone made the video even more touching.

I have followed IU for many years now. I love her, both as a person and as an artist. I don't think she has ever done anything to deserve the harsh, unfair criticism. I sometimes feel that those that use their time to slander and criticise innocent people online are acting more and less because of jealousy. I watched her performance when she was still grieving for Jong hyun’s loss! It was heart wrenching to watch. When I heard about Sulli and Goo Hara all I could think of was how much pain their loved ones must be feeling. I’ve not really heard her music as much esp the newer songs/albums. But I’ve watched a lot of her dramas and I’ve loved her in them. Whether she is playing a character transported to Goryeo Era (Scarlet Heart) or a 1000 year person whose fate is tied to a tree (Hotel del Luna). She is beautiful and she portrayed all characters justly!

This video explain very well of IU hardships and her emotional pain being a singer and public figure. Not anyone can endure what she has gone through. Most people would stop and give up. Even give up their life to stop the pain. You can never believe how mentally and emotionally strong IU is. She never give up. She works very hard. She determine to succeed whatever came. And of course her talent help her to achieve that. But do you know what she believe. "Love will overcome Hatred". It is the love from her family,close friend and UAENA that kept her going. Her fan UAENA always stay by her side whatever hatred came. As a soloist she is alone and UAENA knows that so they fill in emotional support she need. And she do anything for her UAENA. From these people continuous love and her believe in love, she slowly change. She started to love herself. She started to take things steadily. She started to not worry to fall. And she started to believe that "You gain something when you lose something". Now she is in better place emotionally. I believe. As much as she give strength and emotional support from her singing and songs to people in Korea and the whole world. To me. That is how much i wish her happiness. I remember how shocking and hard was the death of Jong Hyun, Sulli and Hara. It’s not like death rates weren’t less even during that time but I think since the time these 3 died, the death rate of idols and artists only increased from there onwards. I just came back here after the death of MoonBin of Astro. It really gave me flashes of Jong Hyun, Sulli and Hara all over again. I feel bad for his family, friends and fandom and now I feel even more for all these people in this industry especially people like IU who tries to overcome their struggles despite all challenges when others around them gives up on life so easily and embrace death, leaving behind loved ones to mourn the loss. I hope netizen could see them as humans first instead of robots who are there to entertain them.

Thank you, this filled in a lot of gaps in my knowledge about IU. I first learned of her through one of her almost forgotten roles, in the soundtrack for Queen Seondeok, right before I moved to Korea in 2010. Then, through the years, I heard many of her songs but only knew a little about her story and controversies, as I was a new foreigner there. But she's always won me over with her music, her personality, and her classiness with respect to old and new. Just by chance I was around Sogang University when she had her mini-concerts there and I was able to buy the very last ticket at the top row. Such a fun time, and she put on a great show. She's gotten even better since then, and I hope she and her loved ones don't have to suffer any more going forward.

Contrary to that, this was a really beautiful video and I have gained a newfound appreciation for IU, she’s really really strong and I just admire her so much.
