There’s so many comments about the caller and how the sheikh was right. I’m not criticising the sheikh or the caller. All I will say is, we’re not in a position to brand the caller as someone who didn’t want to leave the game, maybe he took the advice and has left off the game? Allah guides whom he wills. A reminder to myself first and foremost, no matter what sin or what manner someone speaks with, there is always a chance for them to turn back to Allah. May Allah reward the sheikh for answering the question and May Allah reward and grant the caller goodness for having the courage to ask on live TV. May Allah guide and forgive the Muslims. Ameen.

People are complaining Sh. Al-Fawzan stopped the call. However, they fail to acknowledge his statement towards the end "If it is forbidden, even if there is no exchange(gambling) it is forbidden. It is a revival of a disgraceful tradition." His reason is not personal. He was trying to give him the full ruling and he argued back with "But sheikh, there is no exchange and it is after isha." There is also great importance where he mentioned the "disgraceful tradition." His justifications and the like lead to people playing and playing may open the door to gambling. On issues of fiqh - students are not encouraged to blindly follow. *Card dice games & chess* I could only find one saheeh hadeeth on playing with dice. It’s actually speculative. مَن لَعِبَ بالنَّرْدَشِيرِ، فَكَأنَّما صَبَغَ يَدَهُ في لَحْمِ خِنْزِيرٍ ودَمِهِ. doing qiyaas (that playing cards is also haraam) on a hadeeth about dice is a poor stance - because they are different games - Qiyaas ma’l faariq. More importantly If you do find another hadeeth that playing with dice or cards is haraam - you’ll see that there is no illah for the tahreem, which means the obvious intent for it being haraam is the gambling involved and not the game itself. This is common in hadeeth: The statement is broad but with a specified intent Al qawlu ‘ām wa yureed bihi al khās. والنَّرْدُ لُعْبَةٌ *مَقصودُها القِمَارُ، وأكلُ المالِ بالباطلِ*، مع ما فيها مِنَ الصَّدِّ عن ذِكر الله، وعن الصلاةِ، وعمَّا يُفِيدُ الإنسانَ في دِينِه ودُنياه، مع ما يَطْرَأُ فيها مِنَ الشَّحْنَاءِ والبَغْضَاءِ، ولذلك شدَّد النبيُّ صلَّى الله عليه وسلَّم في لَعِبِها وقال: «فكأنَّما صَبَغ يدَه في لَحمِ خِنْزِيرٍ ودَمِه» This is clearly shown in the sermon of Ibn Zubair (during his khilaafah). They distract from the dhikr of Allāh 2. They are imitating the kuffār 3. They could lead to evil 4. A number of Sahaabah thought it was wrong like Ibn Umar & Āishah 5. RasulAllāh’s analogy that playing بالنَّرْدَشِيرِ is like dipping ones hands in pig blood/ flesh shows that this applies to one playing without gambling, therefore playing while gambling is like eating pig. Lets go through each reason: 1. If no.1 is a reason for tahreem, I guarantee you most of our lives are consumed in sin. Plus if mere dice games were haraam for the reasons of distracting from dhikr as they say - that means ALL video games should be haraam too. 2. Imitating the kuffār does not take a blanket ruling of “harām”. In some cases imitating the kuffār may be makrooh or even mubaah or taqarrub. So that’s a really weak argument. 3. These games may lead to evil! Again, sin is not determined by something that may lead to something else. A sin is determined by the very thing itself. And just like a person can argue that such games can lead to evil, these games can also be used as a means for family and friends to bond and enjoy one another’s company. صلة الرحم 4. Some of the companions believes these games were wrong. Opinions of lone sahaabah are not in of themselves a proof. The reason for this is because the sahaabah disagreed on religious issues. So if you choose one sahaabi you are by default rejecting another. 5. To say that this explanation is a stretch is an understatement. Aside from the fact that it is an assumption, RasūlAllaah simply gave this analogy to show that gambling is filthy (hence why he gave the analogy of dipping ones hands in a pigs flesh & blood). It can also be argued that the hadeeth indicates karāhah (not tahreem) - if the intent is dice games without gambling. Though that would be a strange opinion Peace ✌️

Astaghfirullah may Allah forgive u brother it is totally prohibited to label takfeeri, do u know what that even is, it is a person who is not even a Muslim he doenst believe in Allah he is a disbeliever or he has exited the fold of Islam buy not paying attention to Allahs commands such as salah, this is smth serious u have said and totally prohibited, the prophet saw the one who labels a brother as a kafir it is one of two, so either he is a kafir or it turns back to u and u are labeled as a kafir, and clearly there was no disbeliever in this vid so may Allah forgive u and may Allah guide u to watch ur words and not label people as disbelievers when u don't know how prohibited it is and sinful and probably don't even know what it means....

SubahnAllah! Its so disheartening to see that so many people on here are justifying Al-fawzan's behavior. How on earth is this short tempered nature in any way worth defending or emulating? And What adaab? Do we humans really need an Adab which makes a 'learned' person snub another person just for interrupting him (Be it intentional or Unintentional)? This is what Al- Islam came with? Is this what young people should aspire to become? To study for 60 + years only to behave like this? Then what difference remains between the layman and the learned? No difference at all. Even some Non-Muslims have shown greater patience and humility than what was seen here in this video. Umar- Al- Khattab used to let his slave ride on top of the animal while he, being the Leader, would walk. He also would listen patiently to women correct him in public on issues and would accept his mistakes while being the Leader of the whole Ummah! Compare that beautiful behavior to this reaction! Its sad to see people defending this man because he is a "scholar". This is pure "Scholar glorification" in action and nothing else. May Allah guide us all.
