My biggest tip is avoid getting "tunnel-vision" = over focus on one enemy player. Be aware of how many players there are left. Don't overfocus on one fight when there are more players alive. That way you avoid getting "third-partied". If you can't win a fight, pull out and reposition. No shame in avoiding fights you can't win. Also.... DON'T prone! I've seen countless players get killed when proning since they forget that people can see you from miles away while prone. And you are less mobile when prone. Proning should only be a last ditched attempt to get in cover. Be mobile, flank your enemies, and get the chicken dinner!
@df4291 Жыл бұрын
Good video but what a lot of new players fail to understand is that it often DOES come down to good or bad luck. Not so much in one v. one fights (but luck def can play a role), but just where you find yourself in relation to enemies, the circle, getting third partied, surrounding cover, terrain etc... There are steps you can take to mitigate all of that, but you can never eliminate any of it. Bottom line is, it's a hard game and even pros lose way more than they win.
@poopnach Жыл бұрын
True! Luck is one of the defining features of a game like PUBG. Sometimes you land with good drops and the circle homes-in on you. Other times, you get a revolver and a lv1 vest, and then have to run 1000 meters in the bluezone to find a vehicle. And that's good, because you'll never play the same game twice. And that's the learning-curve: mitigate the random elements and give yourself the best chances. (For my part, I often enjoy BEING the random element!)

My tip as someone with 2.5k hours mostly Solo: Establish an early game routine. -Prioritize getting a weapon that is quick to pick up and fast to load if you somehow land with multiple people near you. Then prioritize Armor next. But be ready to break that routine in case you have to fight anytime. -Also establish your "Comfort Weapons" weapons that you know you'll easily handle early on without attachments. It can be any weapon as long as you can easily fight without attachments. -Next is Regen such as Bandages, First Aids and Boosters. Depending on your preferred play style, the number may differ. Personally, my minimum loadout would be 5 First Aids, a stack of 5 Bandages, 2 Pain Killers and 6 Energy Drinks. The rest you allocate to utility/ammo as you see fit. If you play Solo most of the time: buildings are always risky unless you know it's clear beforehand. Also, try to establish lines of sight to common "Passing Lanes" or areas players usually traverse/drive around. Also, get your attention fist on trees/cover when you're in a new area. People usually hide behind them, depending on the circle, where they are usually oriented. Another tip: concealment/not getting noticed is your best weapon. If people don't know where you are, you are most likely not getting shot at. That's why for your long range weapon, always go Suppressed. Gives you a few precious seconds for the enemy to zero into your location. That may be the difference between getting a win or dying in the final circles. In addition to that, limit your use of grenades/throwables especially smokes. They are the best "tell" to an enemy on where your general location is. Can't count on how many times I've won just because the enemies popped a smoke/nade when I have no idea on where the were hidden (but you can also exploit this to your advantage in mind games). tl;dr Get a comfortable routine and go from there.

THIS... Im at 4.5k hrs and your tips are the same advice I would offer new players.
@Gielderst Жыл бұрын
Great advice. I play mostly passively. By avoiding confrontations. And as you said, i rarely use throwables. At the start of a match. I usually drop somewhere on the side and always look around my parachute if there's anybody else close to me. Then i loot almost everything in sight. And when the circle appears, if i'm outside of it. Then i try to find a vehicle to go straight to the center of it. Or if i'm inside of it, i head towards the center on foot looting as i go. Plenty of times, i manage to get to the endgame around the 10 players' left mark. And it's not as stressful playing this way. Until i get into a fight. But it's fun for me. I also camp kill cause it's also a valid strategy. And i never rage no matter what. I play to have fun not to win. Cause no matter how many times i lose a match without kills. I'll get some sooner or later, so whatever. It's mostly all down to luck. 😄

TDM and training are useful for learning recoil. I enjoy the shooting range with the targets you can change the distance of. Go there and do 20 sprays for each gun and get a feel for them. Once you learn the Beryl, then all other recoils are easier to deal with.

Great video about the right attitude, imagine if almost everyone had this without the toxic behavior... I am a new player, not the youngest age and inexperienced with shooters in general. After learning the basics, my main struggle is the way lower reaction time than others. I usually spot enemies later than they spot me, and in fights I lag behind in actually shooting. Kind of frustrating because it feels like my brain just takes longer to process the information and put it into hand motion to shoot. Then I see others play and they flick with a cat-like instinct. Be aware of your positioning, that is the most important factor in this game. I also don't have super fast reactions or good aim, but I'm good at picking spots and positioning. IMO the real problem is People spending too much time in game looting and hiding rather than taking fights and getting better at fights. When someone hides in building, loots and avoid fights, the main base of the game which is gun fight, they don't any get experience in that and after a spending long time in game, when dying they gets frustrated bcoz of wasted time and blame. The best solution is to balance the gameplay as per the abilities. Like if you are slow looter then land somewhere safe, loot and run for fight instead of keeping surviving for longer. The main aim of games is to have fun.

Your content helped me a lot improve on this awesome game.. when I started playing years ago, I thought that anyone who killed me so quickly were cheating.. Now I am so good at the game, my victims think I am the one cheating 🤣.. When I started deleting players in less than a second, I realized not all are cheaters.. it's just how punishing the game really is.. (also after playing for so long, you will develop a game sense that would help you distinguish a cheater from a better player) Biggest contribution to my improvement is finding the settings I am most comfortable with.. 600+ hours into the game, I am still frustrated why I can't hit as well as others.. At one point, I thought wackyjacky was cheating or using some sort of assistance while watching one of his livestreams.. but then, I spent a lot of hours in training grounds just like what wackyjacky suggested on one of his videos and I shot a lot of bullets then adjust settings.. rinse and repeat.. until I dialed down to the sweet spot.. It was just my sensitivity settings that was holding me back.. I was surprised myself on how easy it is to eliminate players from hundreds of meters after getting the right sensitivity settings..
@abrr2000 Жыл бұрын
there are SOME settings that do make a genuine difference. For example... - adding grenade wheel to spare buttons on your mouse (dramaticly improves your awareness of and tendency to use grenade based tactical solutions) - adding heal wheel to spare buttons on your mouse (improves awareness while healing) - map view set to hold (reduces chance of getting killed because your stuck looking at the map) these are all quality of life improvements that improve how you interact with the game.

Agree with this mostly except for performance. That makes a huge difference to gun fights and gameplay, i don't care what anybody says. If you average less than 100fps in game with spikes and stutters and drops, that completely ruins your gameplay in PUBG. 100%. You need to have a consistent frame rate to improve IMO

I remember in the beginning playing this, was doing the exact thing Jacky said with fiddling with my sens and othe settings all the time. Because i couldn`t figure out how to get better at recoil control, lol. What I found to help me is good sitting position, how I sit and my placement of my arm on the desk while dragging the mouse down while shooting. And find a sense on your mouse that your comfortable with, ajust to lower a tiny bit over time. At least a week so your brain gets used to it. Another tip, always use your surroundings to your advantage, if you feel you are in disadvantage, either backout of the fight or try to rotate to a better position if it is possible. 3500 + hours in the game so far.
@davidgunther12826 ай бұрын
My biggest thing to where my improvement was noticeable was when I decided to commit to 1 close/medium range gun instead of just going with something different all the time. I decided on the AKM due to it’s heavy-hitting 7.62 round and it’s relatively slow fire rate which makes recoil more manageable for console controllers. It’s also found on every map and quite a common spawn, so finding one isn’t hard. Playing with the AKM every game got me used to it’s recoil pretty quickly and I can see noticeable differences in my gameplay. I also slowed down the sensitivity when aiming down sights on it with red dots, holos and 2x scopes so I don’t swing past my target as much when initially acquiring them.

When the military teaches you center mass, it becomes a VERY hard habit to break. Then again, I haven't typically had problems with CM kills and often times in squads or duos it does help force a gun out of the fight because players by instinct try to run and heal somewhat making it easier for you or team mates to finish off a team.

Im not a super succesful player but one thing that gave my a lot more confort while spraying lately. Its that i change red dot sight for x2 or x3. Since im on a 21 inch monitor 1080p its really hard to aim with a red dot at a middle distance 50/100 meters, and do a headshot. Since x2 and x3 are a bit zoomed, its more easy to see the head and shot at it. Before that change on my own preferences of attachment i was the tipical guy complaining for a small monitor with small resolution. Before i was struggling to keep up with my teamates and i was the tipical one that dont get any kill and just die in the first confrontation. So i was always behind my team and never felt confortable to be on the front engaging. Now im pretty much always get at least 1 kill if not more. The x2 or x3 didnt make me better at all, i was already skilled, i just found myself unconfortable using red dot at mid ranges. I suggest trying different ways of playing but trying to find the one that suits you, like Wacky said, not all of us can be "tgltn" just look for a way of playing that make you feel confortable and confident on your own skills. Also i hugely reccomend going to the shoot lab and and practice spraying for at least 20 minits, on each scope, and sensitivity settings you want to try. One week of doing that for like a 30/60 minutes each day and you will thank me later.

The key to winning is practice, practice and practice. If your not winning fights its because your not landing your shots. Spray control is king in this game if you cant do your not going to win. Goto practice mode grab a gun you like and spend time spraying. And dont just practice a fully kitted out gun. Once you get ok you start winning more and more fights. After every game spend a min thinking about what you could have done better, could you have used utility to help you win the fight, did you move into a bad position, did you repeak the same window. Take every game as a learning experience win or lose. And be honest with yourself your not going to win every game, just be happy to have a good fight and move on, learn and move on to the next game.

As an extremely competitive gamer who has played a few games vs some big names but never made it himself, and a enjoyer of Wacky's content. The anger tip is massive, you must reflect on what you did wrong, even if the opponent played extremely lame and like proned in a building didnt make a sound and u ran up and got shot gunned. Instead of raging, you gotta be realistic in a BR this is gonna be a thing, and thats why you shuld use utility when going up stairs etc. Flash it nade it or something, try to get some audio movement. I used to play cs a lot and people would rage and say lucky shot to good players all the time and they didnt understand that they were wide swinging and these players need milli seconds to win every gun fight, but if you keep raging and say lucky shot , youll never realize your mechanics are the problem. Stems from lack of understanding.

To your point about over focusing on things like ping, I'm literally the opposite of this. I blame my runs of good matches on having a lucky better ping than the players I defeat. The thing is, I find that there is a very obvious latency issue between my good matches and my bad matches. In a good match, I'll get a drop on another player and they won't react for a good second, giving me enough time to eliminate them. But in a bad match, I've lost to other players (up close) before I even see them fire their weapon at me. And while it's always fun to be able to defeat other players with ease, the truth of the matter is that the proper game experience lies somewhere in between those two extremes.

It would be great if PUBG had the option to join a new game when you die without having to go back to the lobby, I know that some people will consider it bad because you are more likely to continue playing and not know when to stop. But for people who have a slower pc it will be better then staring at the loading screen waiting to go back to the lobby

Based on exp. One of the best ways to improve in this game is to assess yourself. Based on what you're comfortable with and the best for your current state, you adjust your decisions and settings accordingly. And in some areas, you then proceed to go higher or lower.

I play a lot of matches with good players on ranked. You have to keep up and stay alert. You get knocked enough times by better players you learn from it and get better. At least that’s the way it was for me.

Im usually die behind a wall...after that im watching the replay from the enemy perspective and realize they also cant see me... And i usually meet enemies who can beat me 3shots in hundreds of meters with a beryl spray. What should i think of them? Imo the other difficulty to pubg is that there are so many different maps with different mechanics that i cant practicing...they also implemented the new revive system to the game, but i cant even try it in 30 matches..reason 1 is our team fully demolished before getting the revive tower or reason 2: the tower is too far away from the circle to make the revive even possible. And yeah, there is a practice game mode in the game but i dont feel like i can benefit from it in any ways...maybe you can make a video what should people practice in the practice mode. And the last part is that you need a good team to work with. You need 3 ordinary people if you dont wanna s*ck with randoms..sometimes its hard to manage to get them together. And lets be honest, a fully organized team versus a team with random peoples isnt that equal. Random people usually want to jump on hot drops..in this case you have 2 options. Number 1 you join them and get drilled in the first minute or number 2 you dont care and go without them to die alone. I have 1000+ hrs and i feel like im still s*ck 😂 im better than before but i have no chance against pros and cheaters and lets be honest again, the enemies are always pros or cheaters...even using a macro also counts as a cheat imo. Its very hard to deal with these people and yeah, also hard to handle the frustration after a couple of games..this is the reason why so many player left pubg so far not to mention all the other crappy bugs and weird stuff. Anyways thanks for the video! ❤

Hi. What about gameplay tips ? People don't improve also because they don't know the right distance to use AR or DMR (yes you can spray at 80m if you're good enough). Also focusing on environment: always check your surroundings even while moving, also be ready of what might happen everytime... And many more ...

3:57 The thing with PUBG is, when you play 100 games your playstyle might work in 1/4 of all games - what does that tell you? That is the difficult thing then is to determine whether that is a good way of playing or not. Depending on the situation a certain playstyle might be right or wrong, there are way too many variables to say that it's plain wrong or plain right.

I would say my biggest problem is having to face cronus users, i feel like in rank those people are EVERYWHERE so you end up having to out position them and get them to fight as many people as possible before going after them. When the enemy has no recoil and lasers from 500m out with a beryl it becomes frustrating for sure. Hit Master last season and lost it the very next match to a squad of crone domes

@Uncle Rico it's stupidly frustrating cause all you can do really is try and bail on the fight and catch them with their back turned. Then they get soooo salty if you kill them lol. It's basically gate kept me out of master rank though cause at that level your matching up with all those lovers. I don't mind modding single player or PVE games but in pvp it just tells me they aren't good enough to actually play the game fairly. It's kinda pathetic honestly.
@daisydaisy3019 Жыл бұрын
There are ways to beat them though. Outsmarting them is usually easy because they weren’t smart enough to get good at the game on their own. Stuns and all other throwables help too.
@DoneDragon1 Жыл бұрын
@Daisy Daisy the biggest problem for beating them though is closing the gap. They kill me a lot when they are 100+ meters away, usually when out of throwable distance. I've learned that waiting for them to be engaged with another team and then third partying them is the better route. Mountain bike for sneaky pull ups

This was great. I prefer aggressive playstyle and get frustrated when I lose a hot drop game after game. The only advice I half disagree with me mimicking pro players. I have learned a lot from just watching wacky, tig, Bob, and badboy and I use what I learn in game.

Wacky Jacky said that's right, you don't need to be angry at defeat, even if you and the team realized that a cheater is against you, you can survive and even win, he's also right about being unique in gameplay, I'll give myself as an example. Due to the fact that I hold the mouse in my left hand and the keyboard in my right, I realized that I can conduct extremely fast single fire on the key more conveniently than many on the mouse. Thanks to this skill, I can use any DMR (or m16 or mutant, it's much more convenient to get in time with the shots on the key and the mouse as a manipulator for me) as if this is automatic fire and I will have an additional slot, let's say for a shotgun and so on a bunch of other nuances. Find yourself and play for fun.

Hey Wacky, I'm someone who blames my self each time I get killed. I decided I wanted to get better at playing around season 20 (late in the game I know, before then I was super super casual). I've honed in my system settings, and I have what I consider to be very good harware. (I cap 240fps (165hz monitor), G Pro Superlight with low sense, Steelseries Apex 7, good quality IEM) Since season 20 I've been improving drastically, starting at 0.6 KD and now at 1.5 KD solo. I seem to have hit a wall here. My game sense is lacking a lot, I often die to being too agressive, but I don't think I'm being unresonably agressive. I use arcade mode to practive my reflexes, and I feel pretty good here, commonly in the top 5/3 (but I don't use my IEM because sound is irrelevant). BR is quite diffetent. I struggle with balancing being agressive and being cautious, I don't want to be a rat, and I often find my self rating wihtout trying, and I lack the skill to fend off rat behaviour wihtout being a rat my self. My accuracy lets me down in this regards, people generally kill me from sounds alone. Do you have any hints for someone like me?
@nellynelson965 Жыл бұрын
I agree with all of these but thats not going to change the problem I am having with spray accuracy turning into a wild shotgun after more than 4 rounds. Ive gone as far as to use Raw Excel. Draw lines on Paint to see if I am in fact horrizontal and virticle. I have even spent hours in the training range which just leaves me even more downhearted. Hell I have even spent hours upon hours in Kovaks but that does not replicate the issue which can be spotted clearly when I used a bit of cardboard to ensure I was going virtically down in the shooting range. All I had to do was keep a constant speed. Even with my virtical sens at 2 (yes 2) I had trouble not only keeping the shots on the whole target, but off ceiling after a few rounds and then the floor before running out of desk. But more of a problem was the random jumps left to right that dont correspond with the tracking line if you dont move the mouse and hit fire. Yes it was "better" than without the carboard ensuring a perfect pull down, but it was still all over the place. And before you ask my DPI is 800 (ive also tried 200, to 1600) and polling rate 1000. Mouse acceleration is off and Yes I have tried other mice. 1 wireless, 2 others wired and all different makes. Ive even tried 3 different mousepads. My mouse is in a 3.1 USB slot. Sometimes it isnt the player.
