I love Switzerland ( used to live in France near the Swiss border)....went to Geneva many times and also Montreux, Lausanne and some smaller places around the lake. Are there any German speakers here who can answer a question please? Their name ( Melanie's family) is shown as "Oesch's die Dritten" but I am confused by the 's after Oesch ? I have only seen English use 's. I know very little German ( a small number of random words etc) but I love how it sounds. I know French very well and some Spanish and Italian, but German sounds better than Spanish and Italian ( to me).....no offence to anyone from Spain / Italy 😕

Oesch's die Dritten which means the third generation of the Oesch (family) is written in an English way like for example Clark's third generation !! In German the genitive is written without the apostrophe Peters Wagen , Peter's car or the car of Peter !!

Yes !! Initiallly she was speaking in the Bernese dialect (the Swiss German dialect of the area of Bern) later she speaks in Standart German (Hochdeutsch)
