Great video as always! Love the intense action, and good strategies you’re pulling off, now for my usual post-game rants and tips……. This is pretty much your typical late game AOTR experience, Golan platforms everywhere, tier 2-3 imperial outposts + heavy garrisons, and heavy loses every system you take. This is funnily enough lore accurate, but it doesn’t make it any more fun, so here’s a few tricks to “even out” the battlefield Firstly great job with your new credit income! You’re building the correct (garrison) infrastructure on your most lucrative planets and establishing buffer zones in front, although the gas mines on bespin might need some rebuilding…… plus since Lando isn’t that great of a combat hero, try sending him home and he could be making you a few more hundred credits every week…… you can’t ever have enough credits afterall. Oh and do send someone to take care of the corruption problem on malestare, don’t give the criminal scum a single credit! Paid fighter swarms are…… to put it mildly…… not a great idea……. They are fantastic for alpha strikes like the one you pulled off, their greatest strength is flexibility of deployment afterall, but they aren’t exactly meant to stay in the thick of it…… every squadron is 600 if not much more credits you could lose from a single lucky non-paid for tie fighter squad, and while the flak guns on ISDs aren’t great, with such a massive swarm they don’t need to be that accurate and will still melt your fighters slowly but surely. The biggest problem you had in that bloody battle was the imperial support craft and tie fighters that you didn’t engage immediately, Y wings aren’t as damaging as you might think they are especially against so many targets, the ai just targets whatever is closest so full kills are hard, it’s called ‘target saturation’. Best just take out enemy shields and pull out, let your capital ships handle them afterwards…… Speaking of capital ships, MC80s are NOT that tanky, throw one in front of 3 ISDs (and Dave is using the ISD II variant with more big guns), and it’s dead. You have to keep up the pressure and send everything else with it, then force the ISD to turn in awkward angles to minimise their frontal firepower, while you go full admiral Piett on them. Still lesson here is don’t underestimate a good imperial fleet, in fact the fleets Dave is using are pretty similar to what I’d use, he’s only missing some ace pilots and support craft. The greatest strength of the imperial navy is frontal firepower and a good back line that slaughters bombers or corvettes, don’t play into their hands, do hit and runs, divide their fleets through janky movement, and use your ship abilities to survive. A slippery rebel fleets is a good rebel fleet, an outgunned rebel fleet is a dead one. As for the ground battles, I really don’t have much to say except scouting ahead a bit more, rebel squads are usually equipped with tauntaun scouts to check out enemy positions, some even have ‘ping’ abilities that reveal the a nearby patch of the fog of war. Don’t run headfirst into enemy positions, Dave is doing some very smart things keeping all his units together so they’re all supported and covered from their weaknesses, bombing runs are getting shot down (by that stupid stupid piece of junk AT-AA) and orbital bombardments aren’t that accurate…… that being said it’s not all bad news……. I would once again, highly recommend the strategy we call “save-scum and auto resolve”, this is effectively gambling because you’re trusting the cursed auto resolve button, but there are definitely scenarios where the odds are actually stacked with you…… in AOTR space stations and defensive structures aren’t valued properly, they don’t take up more than 1 popcap, so a fully decked out imperial garrison with 4 buildings just looks like 4 popcap to the auto resolve gods…… you have 40+ popcap in your army, the auto resolve “thinks” you win this handedly…… next time you see an imperial planet without actual “paid for” garrison, save and try pressing the big scary red button on the right, in such a bad situation the auto resolve RNJesus might just toss you a bone and let you walk out with minimal if not zero casualties…… just don’t put any of your heroes in there, the auto resolve calculations doesn’t seem to favour non-major heroes…… Again great video, and keep up the mid-rim offensive! You should be in the core in no time…… that is if Vader and the emperor didn’t ‘somehow’ survive endor…….

Haha, glad you liked the video. Yeah, this late-game AOTR experience is getting crazy. So many tough battles. I'm so ready to read these tips. Glad you're liking the mines. I took your advice to heart! Yeah, I think pulling Lando back is the right move for that increased credit income. I'll be sure to note that. Bespin definitely needs its mines back, haha. You're completely right. The fighter swarm tactic works well when deployed against poorly-supported targets, like how Dave was in the battle (and the other ISD). If I took out the shields of both Star Destroyers and destroyed them using the MC80s, that would've probably saved the fighters in the battle. Good call, man. Gosh, "slippery" is the perfect term to use for the Rebel ships. I need to work on making them using their mobility. The tough part was the pathfinding. I really tried to bring all of the ships to bear, minus Ackbar, but the MC80s moved at different speeds and the Dauntless turned the WHOLE way around. That made it so tough for me. Curious if the MC80s honestly need a buff to their shields because their damage output still isn't impressive to me, at least. I still love them, though, and I gotta learn how to use their mobility properly. Thanks! Yeah, Dave has been pretty smart with the Tier 3 ground battles. Honestly, I'm shocked he's been doing so well with all of the AT-ATs & anti-air. I think proper bombardments and then event bombing runs (after taking out the AA) will be the way to go moving forward. Although, I see what you're saying about pulling a Rooster with the autoresolve. I used to autoresolve so often in Republic At War. But, for this campaign, it's terrifying, haha. The build times, man. They take so long. I'll probably try them more as we get into those really long late-game slugs. Amazing comment as always. These are so amazing. Please keep them coming. I'll be sure to use them against Dave continuously!

Dave played you perfectly over Adega, he exploited the fact that you hesitated so much to commit all of your forces and defeated you in detail as each cruiser engaged independently, you gotta be ready to either fully commit to the engagement or soften them up with long range artillery. You held back Ackbar and the attack against Dave’s fleet was very poorly coordinated because you caught the Dauntless battleship in a really wide turn. Hopefully we bounce back better in the next one!

Gosh, it was such a tough battle. The hard part is weighing in whether it's worth it to potentially lose Ackbar to these fights because Dave will instantly target him as soon as he's visible. It's crazy.

@@SeeRoosterGaming It is kinda wierd that there is no rule in the mod that disables his respawn after the Endor mission. There is a chance that you could fix it with a submod, but I cannot guarantee that

as terrifying as ton falks may be, its often not worth it to hyperfocus on them, yes they have a lot of starfighters and antistarfighter firepower, but keeping the fighter battle close to your (capital)ships allows your antistarfigher weapons to support your starfighters.

Hey! So, to buff the units, I went into the XML folder in the Steam local files and located the REBELSPACEHEROES file (something like that) and looked for the shieldpoints for Ace Azameen and increased it to a really high number. That way, it'll be tougher for Dave to eliminate him, but not impossible. Hope this helps! If not, I'll be on my Discord~
