Was it IKB that had something metallic (coin?) stuck in his throat for years and, then, engineered a device to remove it? He also engineered the first steam-powered euphonium in the late nineteenth century - inspirational.

He got the coin stuck in his lung whilst attempting a magic trick, then he and his father, Mark, invented the inversion table to try and remove it!

@@danielthomas7629 My thoughts too. No-one plays those notes on eupho. Bob Childs has played super A, Garry played super C, but Dan is playing much higher (see this and his shorts video where he does tripe B). Dan has now reached the status of legend with his thundering sound and high notes, and I am not sure David Childs could even do that. I am starting to understand now, Dan's playing is now reaching new limits in euphonium playing. Bob Childs once played the limits, then David, now Dan is taking it even further.

@@TheSproutarian For what it's worth, I was having a lesson with Bob Childs in his kitchen, and I asked him what his highest note is, and he ripped out the loudest super D I've ever heard, made me jump a mile!

@@danielthomas7629 Are the high C#’s better on a Sovereign compared to a Prestige? I’ve Played on a Prestige for years and I get terrified every time I see one. That Harrison’s solo is lovely/horrible all in one😅

@adammcg7115 Nope! C#s are terrible on all modern large bore euphs; I think it's just the nature of the beast. Best C# I've ever played was on a 1970s medium bore Besson New Standard, but there were lots of dreadful things about it, too!
