Welles Crowther was a living hero. In the face of tragedy, he rose both literally and figuratively. Welles was a former student-athlete at Boston College who is credited with saving as many as 18 lives during the September 11th attacks. He was recognized by those he saved by his signature Red Bandanna, a gift from his father. Welles went up so others could come down.
Boston College Baseball is honoring Welles during their Red Bandanna weekend this year. The team will don a Red Bandanna 19 patch, a custom hat, and custom batting gloves. Their goal is to show that Welles’ legacy lives to this day - on campus, on the field, and in the community. For BC Baseball, it is about doing your part and being there for your fellow man.
For Welles…
