Yep it's clear why Will Kennedy reached out to Dane. Incredible bassist and beautiful solo. This band is just brilliant....love this. Going to enjoy working my way through Void's back catalogue

JulianFernandez they've grown together, this is the same band (minus the keyboardist) that were playing together when trumpeter extraordinaire James Morrisson found them and asked them to join him for a couple of tours.

Dane is killing it! You can hear the harmony through the entire solo while still playing freely and not chasing the chords! World class! Does someone know the chords for the entire form they are soloing over?

Holy crap. Seeing the PJS stands and remembering sitting at Hyde Park hotel, being brought by my Dad and just being immersed in the music holy shit!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Troy, for the nostalgia trip. I remember asking yfor your number to get a private lesson and you told me one of the most important things about music. Even if you play the wrong note, if you play it with confidence, folks wont know its wrong. Thank you.

I saw Troy a couple of years ago at the Blue Note, he’s a great band leader. Dane Anderson’s performance here is something else, what a player.

I agree. He's following changes. He reminds me of a mix of Jeff Berlin and Gary Willis. Lots of really interesting improv ideas :-)

that drum solo and over all tune brings me to crying laughing tears. on the floor how in the heck is that band so talented. Andrew on drums is way off the charts. how is this guy not playing with everyone! He is one of the greats.

I'm a teacher and a sax player. This is great to show how to get a great sound for all of the instruments. It's not "open your throat"...it's "relax your throat so the air can expand your throat." If you watch Troy at the beginning it's easy to see that's whats happening.

Commenting on this because i grew up with Void. Imagine growing up with this. Its stupid. 'Void' is the only time i consider "utterly stupid" a perfect compliment. This IS the best band out of Perth.

This is why you don´t "overprocess" a mix when you have high quality musicians like these ones playing... Overdoing things with too much compression, reverb, etc. ruins everything and you cannot capture the dinamics and the natural sound of the instruments executed. This performance is beyond awesome.
