Me too kid this was before people realized negativity sells so well. when I was like 10 or 11 years old most TV shows were fun and upbeat like this. Now the world's full of daytime drama and disgusting crime scene investigation.

Gotta love the Red Green show! Not only is the cast excellent but obviously the entire crew is vital. Just look at how many site gags and on-location projects they have to prepare for. Red putting the pipes in the cold water and bending them, had to take some effort to hide the first pipe, billowing steam, or dry ice...all of it is set up and ready to effect on time.

Yea, that firewood conversion is a good ideal for camping in the middle of nowhere. Not only does the truck run on wood, but the camp equipment and electrical. You burn wood anyway camping, this way you benefit from it in multiple ways, cooking, heating, transportation, and electricity at the site all from the same fire. And yes Harold, it can be done. lol It is already known and been used in history, they burn the wood at the proper temperature and it will produce syngas in the exhaust from the fire, a flammable gas they will then use to run the truck. People also use it to produce electricity on site, using firewood, instead of piping the output to the truck, you flip a valve and pipe it over to the generator. Or if you can figure out how to hook a huge generator to your truck motor, you won't need to flip the valve, just use the same truck motor, less stuff to bring.

No, they get in front of you with a fighter, approaching from the left side and flashing the nav lights. Then the fighter will initiate a slow level turn to indicate for the intercepted aircraft to follow, and the last step would be to approach the airfield and the fighter would circle the airport then overfly the runway in the direction of approach with landing lights lit.

As strange as it seems, wood burning cars DID exist and were used especially in Germany during WW2 due to the shortage of gas. Red's idea may seem far-fetched and the show liked to make fun of this idea, but in reality this was one of his ideas that would have worked.

I've tried watching a few episodes but I don't get it at all. The jokes are almost not jokes at all, they just say stuff like "hat, banana" and people laugh. Why is this show so high rated. What is it, someone explain the particular Canadian humor to me. I love Kenny vs Spenny and Trailer park is doable but Red, Green. Weird.

K. maybe it was more of a cozy, safe, easy-going show rather than actually funny. I do get the nostalgia for folks who see it now though, just like Home Improvement is nostalgia for me.
@Doctor_Odin

MindGem the show is initially a parody of The Stereotype of the low-budget blue-collar tired and shows. Along with basic improv comedy sketch with Harold and red switching between the crazy man and straight man. And some of the sketches having red be the Straight Man to the other possum Lodge members crazy man. In the end the show also pays homage to the craziness and Ingenuity of the lower class. Along with touching up with straight man advice for relationships in the form of satirical jokes.

The general consensus I found about this stuff is you either need to know somebody like this, or you need to have some sort of connection to being a handyman or an outdoors person. If you don't have a personal connection to this kind of lifestyle, it's probably not going to hit.
