What a pure feeling you let flow into making this. I always thought this sufjan's music couldn't match any other video and movie but CMBYN and listened to it only recalling scenes of CMBYN yet your heartwarming edit eliminated this option. This crazy song now belongs to RSC as well. How well every scene in RSC fits the song's interpretation. Starting in a summer mood and superficially ending in winter's heartbreaking vibes yet the spring is an inevitable anticipation :) Here is how I connected the music and RSC. Hope it doesn't bore you :) "Boundless by the time I cried" means ever since I met you and fell in love with you (non-stop), "I built your walls around me" beside the visual that best fits the song, Deok Im has displayed somehow the role of a beloved protection to san often being in danger. We've seen those standing shields prepared by grandpa's (the yeong-jo king) command in ep 03 and ever since then, deok im was San's on and off-stage supporter. "white noise what an awful sound" we see something proving the lyrics; deok im recalling his memory with san under that shelter in that rainy day, it's kind of awful to her to see San again being in troublesome situation (ep 11-12) or when San sneaks a peak at her while she's all immersed in rain's beauty, his glance is full of grief accompanied by merriment that states nothing but awfulness. "Feel my feet above the ground" the glee light that used to shimmer in their daily lives even through a pore: Deok im's emancipation and San's delight for getting off of his loneliness in the palace while having deok im by his side. "Hand of god deliver me" San's effort and zeal for becoming a king and tasting deok-im's actual love (both were san's great purpose all along his life ever since meeting deok-im) or Deok im's concentration on San achieving the inherited throne. Somehow funny may it seem yet even this part looks like a perfect match :) "Oh will wonders ever cease" whatever they went through together whether funny or harsh seemed like a wonder and the true wonder in this edit is the bath scence 😈 which according to se yeong's interview junho's six-pack was 'marvelous' to her eyes 😁, I presumed (don't recall the exact vocab she used to describe) "Blessed be the mystery of love" they both consider themselves blessed after that accidental encounter (bath scene again)😂 which is confirmed that from then on, Deok-San's love became deeper. Just kidding :) Before "how much sorrow can I take" there's the actual front matter of sadness knocking on the door: music's thrilling vibes just shifts to the expected melancholic mood, warning us to get ready for all those half-tasted happiness getting wiped away. "How much sorrow can I take" Deok im's helpless craving written on the screen is her sorrow. She desired San as a normal being and not a king, that's why she was always stuck in a terrible dilemma whether to ignore San or her own freedom as a current court lady. It makes my heart ache watching her willing to head out with her friends and with that single drop cascading down her cheek the harmony of song heard as a tap in sufjan's music doesn't leave any untold word to explain the beauty and grief at once, only our redoubled pain bragging, like a twinge wandering all around the heart. "Black bird on my shoulder" a mutual dialogue they both own, black bird, the unfortune that befell San and Deok-im all their lives: Deok im having to reject the love she fully knew will never ever be found anywhere else, the short-breathed joy that was an upshot of her finally sheathed guard toward San's love, the children she never got the chance to nurture or the poor San always getting the constant kick in the teeth, or bumping into the worst misery of her life: losing his children and their lovely mother. No doubt, fate to Deok-San was nothing but a nonstop b*tch. "And what difference does it make when this love is over" San is back to his solitude, even in his hallucination scene that deok im bandaged his seared palm this love is a one-sided remedy, and truly when deok im died this half-paralyzed love too ran dry, that's why San abandoned his feelings for he believed that deok im never practically loved him back and right after he knew the truth, he gave up life too for he realized his mistake and made his decision firm to reunite with His loved one. "Shall I sleep within your bed?" the obviousness in edit and drama, his/her ever-repeated quest from themselves that from one side demonstrates San's swither to touch her many times and his gentility as a barricade to reach what he could've easily overtaken, something to shed tears for, and from other side deok im's doubt to reveal her affection to San. "River of unhappiness" deok im's shared bed was the settlement of her inner disquietude of not having San completely. San's unilateral passion meant to be a treatment for them both yet deok im never allowed and kept her rather strong affection (even stronger than San's) in secret. No word like the last "blessed be the mystery of love" after "till I breathe my last breath" can best describe how dear to heart this moment is for them both. I lamented over drama and this edit as it was a mystery of love that deok im buried in deepest point of her heart and soul though she might've even had much more intimacy to San than San to herself. We may not be able to revel in recalling their reunion within those few passing minutes, yet the smile does dwell on our faces while watching this mystery getting finally divulged by deok im for the first time, even in afterlife :)
