Nothing better to experience than the smell of diesel exhaust and the sounds of an air horn and a siren of an engine running code. Only thing better: being on that engine...... priceless

Honestly reminds me of my department... we have paid guys during the week but at night and on weekends we have volunteers that stay at the station and then if we get a fire or get swamped with calls we always have more volunteers that show up.

Jeez, these guys put a whole new meaning to the NFPA >1min standard. The whole engine crew were in, dressed and pulling out within 50 seconds. Outstanding job!

Dressed???? I saw three guys grab gear, but certainly didn't put it on
@luicalibre66655 ай бұрын
Exactly!! Only one I noticed that even had his pants on was the front passenger which means everyone else was riding, unbelted, while getting dressed. All just to be first out. Safety first guys!!!

New volunteer going to working fire, "Hot damn, look at those flames, this is GREAT!!!!" Veteran volunteer going to working fire, "Damn, going to be a lot of hose, we'll be here for hours."

Yo, check this, Frank. On 9/11/20, I was right across from the fire station when they got tapped out to a porch fire. My brother made a sweet catch on the ladder turning out on a hot response. The siren even activated while I was there. If I had my phone with me that day, I could’ve gotten a sweet video.

I do not understand the purpose of having the outside siren go off after the engine has already left the station. Is it to call in additional personnel to staff other units?
@JustinNYCode3.4 жыл бұрын
If it’s a volunteer fire dept (outside) siren goes off for volunteers so yes other personal
@joesmoe25994 жыл бұрын
Could of been listening closely for a mutual aid response or some departments have messaging systems that can alert you minutes before the pagers go off
@codybussey11244 жыл бұрын
Most likely got out before dispatch and the siren also alerts others to come man the equipment because they’re down a crew
@1291ffemt4 жыл бұрын
The house siren is a dual purpose. For one, it alerts other volunteers that maybe have a bad signal on the pager. Two it acts as a warning to the public that volunteers are coming to the station and too look out for responders and apparatus.
