Great job. I have often had people ask me how they can have a bigger worm farm and now I have somewhere I can send people for instructions. Cheers

Nice vid, mate. What sort of worms and bedding and worm food will you use in bins like this? Rain would need to be drained occasionally, right? Also, would painting it heat up the bin unreasonably so? Instead of painting it, you could put a sheet of cardboard on the sun facing side to protect the worms from the direct sun heat.

Hi mate, I've got red wigglers in mine. I throw food scraps, grass clipping and cow manure in my worm farm as well as spent compost from making compost extracts plus a hand full of biochar every 6 months or so. Yes rainwater can be drained out into a bucket as leachate. When it's really wet here i throw an old cut down billboard sign over the top to stop it from flooding. Painting it is easier long term but not a show stopper if you don't. Mine is not stored in direct sunlight all day so it never gets too hot... you could put a piece of timber so it doesn't deteriorate over time. I've got another one under full cover and didn't bother painting it and it works well. Happy worm farming Cheers

What is the capacity of your IBC tank Sir?
@theregenerativetrainingcentreАй бұрын
@@user-vl7nf3mr1y the IBC was 1000 litres. When cut and complete you get about 600 - 700 litres of worm farm space 👍

Great video, just one question how do you empty it when it's full? Thanks
@theregenerativetrainingcentre Жыл бұрын
Old school shovelling. I never empty it completely so not too tough on the body. It does take a bit of time to fill it though. Cheers

What ie that around your ankles?
@theregenerativetrainingcentre Жыл бұрын
Robin, Sock protectors or gators... Stops all the dirt and weed seeds ending up in your boots and on your socks. These ones are in a cactus patten. I also have star wars and larma ones too.

Great construction guide - I am just lost for words though about the construction method of just creating heaps of micro plastic in your lawn environment!! How hard would it be to put a tarp down and catch all the plastic bits? That really goes for most Permaculture clips working on plastic so I am baffled how unaware gardeners are??
@theregenerativetrainingcentre Жыл бұрын
Ellen, Thanks for your message and input... great idea about putting a tarp down, that wouldn't be hard or difficult. I'll make sure to include it in the future. Thanks again for your input. Cheers

Wee bit hypersensitive to a few bits off cut bits don’t you think?
