To this day I'm still not sure which goauld was my favourite. Apophis was the most memorable, but I loved the idea behind Baal and Anubis (Anubis being half-ascended, and Baal not being degenerated to the point of being stupidly arrogant)... and who the hell could resist Hathor.

​@@brianlindee220 i know it'd be quite unlikely since stargate is supposed to be about humans in present day, but it would be really cool to have a show just like that, dealing with the years after ra left earth up to the death of ra. especially since its canon that goa'uld prefer to keep the same host, they could do time jumps every season or even episode whilst keeping the same actors and system lords

I honestly thought they were mostly pretty poor villains. I think Ra stood out the most, because Jaye Davidson gave such a great performance and gravitas to the role, and there was this existential dread present in the film which the Goa'uld pretty much lost from day one on SG-1. I thought the Ori and SGA's wraith were far superior and more interesting villains. SG-1 was a Great show, but I think the villains were the weakest element of it. They were serviceable at best, obnoxious and annoying at worst. If I had to pick one, I think the most interesting system Lord from the show was Yu, because he was more calculating not not so boastful. But ultimately he also didn't have much to do.

Great tribute. Ra is still my favourite. Kinda sad that he was offed so easily. If you think about it, he had to be a major badass to stay on top of this backstabbing, powerhungry lot for so many thousands of years.

I was just kinda thinking that. Anubis was always one of my favourites but when I think back to Ra there was a kind of sinister darkness about him. Anubis was cool but he kinda did fall into the stereotype evil god guy.

Joutja123 Daevon Dark Yeh, but above all, My favorites, in order, are Ba'al, Anubis, Apophis, Sokar, Osiris. I do love Stargate, However, I wish the Atlantis had more seasons... SG1 had 10 seasons, SGA had only 5, and then SGU, a pitiful 2 Seasons. Stargate was a Series that was Underappreciated when it was being made :(

+Frankie Holmes Anubis's ship was made with ancient tech and his Hat'aks were modified with said ancient tech so I feel it would be closer then that. the ships anubis commanded could go toe to toe with Asgard ships and even destroy them, and it was upgrades to the earth ships from the Asgard that allowed the humans to destroy Ori ships. makes me kinda question what the Asgard did at the end of the show. It wasnt like they were going to all drop dead in a week so they still had time to think of something to fix their issue

He was in between so his knowledge was greatly limited and could upgrade his technology to a point. The Ori were all the way and had vast knowledge and used technology of the ancients at the height of their power why even their ships defeated the Asgard ships when they first activated the Supergate so sadly the Ori are far more dangerous than Anubis.

I wonder why the system lords never change the host. I mean what a great advantage to be able to change appearance if you wish. SG-1 nor anyone else could find them and kill them if they simply changed the host and looked like a different person. Especially, after the collapse of the Goa'uld empire. Ba'al should have done it, find a new host and disappear.

Id say anubis because unless the ori themselves cam to stop him he and his supersoldiers would destroy the ori followers and the priors would be easy meat to they would try to stop him with their powers but he would just laugh and slay them. Then the ori would be destroyed too because they have no followers.
