This is going to be my Christmas present to myself for 2023. It will join its companion oracle deck The Beloved Dead, also by Carrie Paris with Tina Hardt. If you trim the borders off, it may reduce the size of the cards to fit your small hands.

I have had this on my wishlist for SOOOOO long and missed out on the indie version. I hope I get it for Christmas. As a genetic genealogist and tarot reader, this is a perfect deck for me! I'm planning to use it specifically for ancestor work. I really hope they bring the companion oracle deck to mass market too.

I'm really enjoying this deck. The images drew me in right away, and I agree, it's great to be able to use it both by the guidebook and as a regular deck. I love using the Vintage Wisdom Oracle with it! Here's hoping that the Oracle created by Carrie Paris to go with this is published as well.

I feel like this deck would pair so well with the Tyldwick Tarot. The backs of the Relative Tarot remind me of the backs of the Tyldwick Tarot. I love to pair Tarot and Tarot.

I did end up passing mine along just because I have so many decks in this same vein, but it was a treat to work with and I enjoyed my time with it. The book is really fantastic and I do recommend it. :)

When I heard this deck was going mass market, I happily pre-ordered it. Then I watched a couple reviews. And cancelled my order. I have tons of collage decks and vintage photo decks and I love them, but I can't get on with the RWS symbols photoshopped on the cards of this deck. It's jarring and well.....kinda messy looking to me. I don't like the bright colors of the RWS on the vintage tones of the photos. But your pairings are really nice and I'm sure lots of people will be happy to add it to their collection. Thanks for the lovely review!!

I watched all the other walkthroughs I could find on this, and none of them showed the guidebook, so thank you! It looks like there is no info in the guidebook about the actual people pictured (Harriet Tubman, etc.), correct? Do you plan to leave the gilding/borders? As a seasonal reader deck, which season will it fit in for you? (it feels Samhain to me). Pear Tree Court was an amazing pairing with it! It might also work well with Earthbound Oracle. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I think the guidebook is a key element to working with the unique intention of this deck. I didn't see any reference to the people in the cards, but then I haven't had a chance to really look into it. I think for me, it will definitely be a late fall to winter deck as that's when I tend to work most with that kind of energy. 🙂 Thank you for watching. ❤️
