He isn't, he's a spirit brought back after death and more connected to Mordekaiser than anything involving the Darkin. He speaks about Leblance "not letting him rest" and raging over how he was "brought back to serve his killer". His only connection to the Darkin is that he knows Vladimir, who learned blood magic from the Darkin, but even then he more likely knows him because he has played a massive role in Noxian history and was around when Leblanc sealed Mordekaiser away.
