Ren was gaslit by medical professionals for seven years that his illness was all in his head. The Lyrics Sick boi sick boi bitten by a tick boi are the real description of the cause of his sickness. Ren researched an expert in Belguim who diagnosed him with Lyme disease from the bite. Unfortunately it had become chronic after all that time undiagnosed seven years of physical damage to brain and body from the bacterial infections. Ren spent many years in bed because of this. He was given stem cell treatment free by a Doctor which gave him a few years of health back . Recently tried to keep his health by 18 months of treatment in Canada but relapsed in September Ren is from Wales a beautiful country in the UK he currently lives in England His remarkable ability to keep going despite the challenges and make such stunning music has been an inspiration to many.

@@KDretheGreat sorry to say but ran had an extreme relapse just less than two months after he left Canada and did his first live show. He is very sick. He fainted during filming of a video and was taken to the hospital in England and has been transferred back to Canada. His undergoing treatment again, but he is full of lime disease again and Barton’s disease and so far treatment has not gone very well he is pushing new music but he’s looking for treatment options.

Great reaction man 👍❤ By the way, this song received an unjustified copyright claim. Somewhat confusing story. I'll try to summarize briefly. The producer Kujo-Beats sold Ren a beat that contained a sample that wasn't cleared (the Bulgarian Choir to be exact). Kujo then got into trouble with the copyright owner of this sample and tried to use it against Ren. As a result, 'Sick Boi' was removed from all streaming platforms. Kujo rejected all of Ren's offers to resolve the issue amicably. Ultimately, he probably just wanted more money because Ren is now successful. Ren even offered to do a song with him and split the proceeds 50/50. But Kujo didn't want that. He and his girlfriend also seem to have spread a lot of fake news and untruths. In the end, Ren was so pissed off that he wanted to withdraw the song completely. At the moment Sick Boi is back online at least on YT. But Ren will probably make a new version. To process his anger, Ren made the song KUJO BEAT DOWN, which is a banger. Actually, that's not even the whole story. A KZbinr who also happens to be called Kujo, but Kujo Guapo, got the ire of some over-motivated Renegades. Ren, however, quickly pointed out that they were attacking the wrong man. As a result, many Renegades apologized to Kujo Guapo for the incident and also gave his channel a small boost. But the story still doesn't end there. Kujo-Beats had previously tried the game he played with Ren against a producer named Nayz and almost ruined him. Nayz contacted Ren and after talking to each other Ren asked Nayz if they wanted to do a song together. They split it 50/50. The song is called Money Ties and it's great as well (there are no bad songs by him anyway).

Our favourite sick boi is pure authenticity and fire 🔥 He has been through hell and he has turned it all into art that helps other people. I think a perfect follow up to this track is one of my personal favourites that doesn’t get nearly as much attention as it deserves: Crutch feat. Bibi. It’s an older song from before Ren was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease. If Sick Boi is an expression of the built up frustrations from being misdiagnosed for years, Crutch is the earlier fear when getting sick and not knowing what is happening to you. The song is also very different from everything else in his catalogue 🐰🕳️

The pig is a returning character. Ren has said that it represents greed (including within the medical community) but it also represents his illness. In a great interview on The Zack Sang Show, he said his illness is almost like an ever-present uncomfortable companion. He is never without pain. "Crazy flows" ... You haven't seen anything yet 😅 I know people in Hi Ren have alluded to it, but the guy can rap rap and he says his ADHD makes him bored if he sticks to one cadence or beat for too long. And he does basically everything... all kinds of rap, all kinds of singing, 7 instruments... produces most of his own beats (not this one), mixes all his songs, didn't master the songs on Sick Boi but did the ones previous and the ones after, directs and edits his videos. And, yeah, is completely independent. His team is made up of friends who volunteered for him until he could put them on payroll. All he has is a distributer that is geared to independent artists and has no input in his art. All while sick.

I'm also not sure if anyone's said, but Ren was completely underground until Hi Ren went viral in early 2023. He went from roughly 300k followers on YT to 1m largely with the help of YT reactors. When his album dropped in 2023 it debuted at #1 on the UK charts... a first for an independent album. He has since turned down every major label. He's also turned down collaborations with many big name artists - he would rather feature with a complete unknown he jibes with (and does do... see his latest drop ft. "Kit", a woman he met in treatment in Canada) than big names whose messages he doesn't vibe with.

Ren's 34 and Welsh, but calls Brighton, UK, home. He did spend all of 2023 and most of 2024 in Canada getting specialized treatment for complications for his Lyme disease. I imagine someone has written more about that to you, already. He since relapsed and went back... but the new course of antibiotics was too much for his system and he had to abandon it. The Canadian doctor advised him to find a Lyme specialist for a different approach. He's currently back in Brighton working on health maintenance and researching alternatives, with a hope to be on a new health journey in January.
