Honestly I'm most hyped about the change to void. Let's be honest, Void's 6 charge requirement basically made it so that very few people would actually use void for active item uses, exclusively saving all of their charges for when they find an item room to maybe scrap a passive item for stats and never for its ability to combine and trigger the effects of multiple active items. With it now being a 4 charge item, I'm honestly a lot more inclined to actually use it to proc less utility-focused active items like monstro's tooth, crack the sky, or other active items instead of just using it to void bad passives.

I actually really enjoyed Apollyon before, but would ALWAYS be a charge or two short to use voided actives in important rooms, so I usually just stuck to using it on passives. Plus, 4 charges means you don't have to minmax void charges early game, same with Tlaz, now your free to use Flip in tricky rooms instead of needing it for item and deal rooms

i spend a while generating lil portal rooms and it seems to always generate a random chest, generate a normal/lil batter 1/3rd of the time, and the item in the bottom left has a 25:25:15:35 split between being dice shard:butter:eden's soul:nothing - as well as either a 1 or 2% chance of being moving box (i did 100 tests and saw 2, but that isn't nearly enough data to say anything conclusive). Also - if you have 2 lil portals you can generate a second portal within the portal room, which isaac will just constantly jump in and out of. This is completely useless but is kinda funny.

lil portal literally went from "why are you not doubletap, stop eating my room drops" to first of all doubletap, but also a gamebreakers dream, couldn't have said it any better being able to interact with stuff from previous floors is already huge and super rare with before only myosotis, moving box, technically glowing hourglass but barely useful for anything major there, and the ascent item and bossrooms, though not cards and pills there and also there's not really much to rig for in there anymore anyway so its not just really unique, but also REALLY consistent sure it costs some pickups but i imagine the runs that best make use of it hardly worry about that it literally went from one of the most annoying little buggers to something that i already know is gonna be on multiple thumbnails at some point and the fact that some of the most useful synergies to go along with it are just there as a 2 for one deal is just hilarious i generally really like these changes, a lot of items went from stuff i would never really pick up to some really nice utility i really like the mega bean being a more controlled mama mega, i would actually say it is much better since it doesn't autokill all your beggars and machines, AND you can use it on more than one floor without getting lucky? theres definitely some things still missing e.g. i am also very surprised that tammys head got the buff while it didn't really need it, while isaacs tears was once again forgotten about i wish the creep timer of the evil charm had some kind of indicator because someone who doesn't know what the item is supposed to be doing is gonna think they're fully immune to creep and then be majorly confused they could probably reuse the sound/visuals from poison damage/the dogma aura, i think that would work well also i wonder if they are gonna give bird cage the same treatment as dead bird eventually

No joke, I feel like there's an argument to be made that new Mega Bean is actually a *better* Mama Mega now. Like sure it won't annihilate the entire floor, but it's reusable without needing a golden bomb, and sometimes the Mama Mega effect hitting every room you walk into isn't as good as it sounds, especially if it does things like blow up blood banks or the donation machine when I'm trying to keep it intact. And, in the context of Boss Rush specifically, it could let you open the door late *and* still have the offensive use of the effect available since it'll recharge mid-fight.

I'm SUPER satisfied with all these buffs, they all feel very deserved and of such good quality... it really shows how eager Edmund and his team were to listen to our complaints, and how much love is in the development of this game. Personally while i feel like some of the buffs were amazing, such as mega bean and delirious, some were just in the wrong direction. Abyss is even more pointless compared to void now, as instead of getting a consistent damage tick with bad items/ q0-1s, you now deal way less, and it instead "rewards" voiding things you'd never void before for very little payoff still.

Though at the same time I think the charge windup, while making sense for having more control over it, turns out to be a pretty major nerf as you can no longer use it to _instantly_ escape immediate danger if you react fast enough, since now on top of a quick reaction you also have to wait for the small delay to go through before you can charge away from (or through) a threat The other changes make sense, though. If you don't use it carefully it can absolutely be more dangerous than helpful (Which honestly I think being a learned skill was what made it so unique)

@@witchamy I understand that, and it's to be expected from an update that implements full fledged co-op into the game. But I also never underestimate the sheet dedication modders have when it comes to patching things up every update that comes along. When I say a few days, I don't mean like two or three. I'm well aware that it might take maybe a week or two for most of the more popular mods to be updated. But I don't think it's gonna be longer than that. Sadly, I do think some of the more obscure mods might be lost if the authors don't feel inclined to put in the extra work to make it work with the new layout.

Honestly feels like T Apolion got nerfed. He used to be so powerful because he could turn garbage items into reliable source of damage, you could literally finish entire game defeating Delirium with just abyss locusts alone. Now he is forced to turn garbage items into garbage locusts and his "buff" is that he can turn good items(that you would want to pick up yourself either way) into slightly more impressive locusts. That's just me being salty that my favorite character got mascaraed.

The idea of Hutts that the Data Miner could datamine some info for us was very cool! It's a pity that the final rework just allows you to get more of this trash called glitch items Also the Lil Portal rework is great and it easly the q4 item now, but personaly I like the idea of creating portals to special unexplored rooms a little bit more Mars is ok now, but the most Planetarium items is still sucks

You have complete control on when it rolls items into glitched items or not. If you get more of something and didn't want it, you have no one to blame but yourself.

I'm so glad they buffed Tainted Lazarus's flip!! I recently tried a mod that made his flip cost fewer room charges, and it made him into an actually fun character, so I'm glad that change was made officially!! Before, flip felt like it was not very good at mitigating the massive downside of Tainted Lazarus getting fewer items than he needed... But with fewer room charges, it feels a lot more like Lazarus is a unique and viable character, with Flip being more of a "Tool to use his special ability" instead of "too little to mitigate his downside"!

I know ima get crucified for being a peasant but my gf and I both hope this update comes to Xbox despite Edmunds seeming distain for console. Also possibly some kind of fix or acknowledgment of a well known bug that permanently deletes your save files. These changes are pretty sick tho.
