It is good to see they aren't totally wild. usually horses left out on moors and fields get quite feral after a while. I adore shelters like this in any country or state. Thank you Hillside for providing a place for these beautiful animals.

Yet another triumph for the wonderful staff at Hillside. I support Hillside and I urge anyone who watches this video and the others from them to please support them financially and support them in any way that you can however small the contribution. These people are just the best who give their all and help to free and liberate some of the most impoverished and abused creatures. They have exposed the vilest farms including B Matthews and Freedom Farms working undercover traumatising themselves.

From the U.S.A. - Horses are such beautiful creatures and I'm so glad that you rescued them and gave them a good home. They are so intuitive - it was fun to watch the other horses running alongside them. I'm so glad that there are organizations like yours that rescue and take in abandoned animals, but such a shame that they are abandoned in the first place. Please keep up the good work - the animals need you!

Its so sad to see so many beautiful Gypsy horses abandoned and unwanted. In the USA they would be worth thousands and are prized companions. In the UK I have heard they are considered nearly useless and are a dime a dozen. This is not only unacceptable but extremely sad in my opinion. As they are beautiful horses inside and out, very intelligent, and highly versatile. Even to the point of being used to successfully work cattle in Texas. I will forever adore my own Gypsy filly and hope the UK will wake up and see the treasures they throw away. I am so glad to hear these had a happy ending.
@charlotteroberts135410 жыл бұрын
What you need to understand is that these Gypsy horses are not necessarily Gypsy Vanner horses, or anything of high breeding or of even decent breeding. A lot of these Gypsy horses are just patterned cobs that are bog-standard in the UK. People backyard breed them all over and they can be exceptional horses, but since there are so many, they aren't that highly prized.

Charlotte Roberts How in God's name to we decide how to put a "value" on the lives of such beautiful creatures? Dear Lord, please help us to protect innocent creatures who are determined to be of no "value". :(
@MachimoLP9 жыл бұрын
Funny to see that they are rare in the Us! Here in Holland we see them everywhere! Most are used in stables or for handicapt people because they are calm and friendly. I can't imagen them being rare
@DeletedSanityCPG9 жыл бұрын
+MachimoLP Lol There are only 2 of them in my entire County and we are one of the larger cities in Texas. If that puts things into perspective. Think there are only 6000 in the entire United States. So for us it's odd to think of them as plentiful. I'm glad to hear they are used well in Holland though. They are used for everything from jumping and dressage to reigning and cattle work here. I'm old fashioned though and plan to have my filly pull my cart :).

I don't know how much rescue these horses really needed yes they were surrounded by water but water will go down and they appeared to have grass and they look to be in good shape . The owner of the land seemed ok for them to be there.
@Hailstorm6178 жыл бұрын
It's not about the owners of the land letting them stay, the owners can't provide care for the horses in a freak accident because I'm guessing they know nothing about horses. These are powerful animals and you need experience with them.
@coqcaine11 жыл бұрын

And as I said b4 staff will work undercover in so called RSPCA approved farms having to live with and watch the agony of these poor animals in order to expose it and the become traumatised themselves in doing so. I know that I could not do it. God bless you all at Hillside, we love you all I will send money this week. Keep it up Guys xxxx

But if you learnt about evolution you will be even more amazed about how life became as diverse. Carl Sagan said it better. “How is it that hardly any major religion has looked at science and concluded, “This is better than we thought! The Universe is much bigger than our prophets said, grander, more subtle, more elegant?” Instead they say, “No, no, no! My god is a little god, and I want him to stay that way.” A religion, old or new, that stressed the magnificence of the Universe as revealed by modern science might be able to draw forth reserves of reverence and awe hardly tapped by the conventional faiths.” Carl Sagan, Pale Blue Dot: A Vision of the Human Future in Space
@Balstrome110 жыл бұрын
No need for belief, we have all the evidence that will show you beyond any doubt that we share a common ancestor with monkeys and apes. And YOU can also learn this and even test it to see if the claim is correct and valid. Of course, being a theist, this is a scary thing for you to do, because if you do not have a god to tell you not kill your neighbor who knows what you will do, right?
@Balstrome110 жыл бұрын
Note people, here is another example of uneducated ignorance proudly waved around on the internet. How much do you actually understand about evolution? From what you have been writing here, is less than zero.
@Balstrome110 жыл бұрын
If your opinion is wrong and we can show that it is wrong, what the fook must we keep quiet? You have the right to have a wrong opinion, as I have to right to point out why it is wrong. If you can not handle that, gtfo

@veronikaelv8 жыл бұрын
nope, leader of the herd is always the stallion or gelding. mares dont run the herds. in front is a pregnant mare. the leading stallion or gelding is usually the last one.

I wouldn't have spread the hay all out like that, much will be lost due to them peeing and pooping on it and the money will have been wasted. But at least they enjoyed a good feed right at first. I'd have put the hay around the walls as their tail ends would have been away from the hay, nose toward it.
