Politics aside (not a Conservative by any means) I want to send a big Thank You to Laureen Harper for fostering homeless kittens and cats!!! Wish we'd known more about her while her husband was PM. Not that it would sway me to vote Conservative, but I do respect her for the compassion she's shown in helping animals.

Jeepers. I stumbled upon this just now, still in the midst of watching it, and this lady Laureen Harper, I am like, why was she so in the background during her husbands run as PM. I never knew anything of her til now. She seems like a sweetheart. Sometimes the lady should be just as out front as her husband. She was First Lady of Canada for so many years and I never heard her really speak til I watched this video..and I am loving her. Kirk..in Montreal

You can search for similar video tours of Rideau Hall, which Mrs. Harper refers to in this as being just across the street. Rideau Hall is the home of the Governor General of Canada, so it is larger, more stately, and so more like the White House.

What a great actress WINO Laureen is. She left Stephen Harper in 2006 / 2007. You would never know it from her many lies here in this video.

This is exactly how I envision a REAL Canadian Prime Minister to live and behave in their home. Shoes, hockey sticks at the door, the PM's band practicing and drinking a beer, a fire pit in the back.... Laureen is so gracious and down to earth, 'help yourself to the fridge'...lol. Now can ONE person say they believe the Trudeau's are ANYTHING LIKE THIS? In fact Laureen couldn't care less about having HER hand decorate, Mrs Trudeau will spend MILLIONS on this house going over every detail so she and JT LOOK like they live in a palace. In fact this house was not good enough for them on any level, that's why they all out refused to live here until the hundred million dollars in renovations were done. I wonder where all Laureen's nanny's are, OOPS, ya right, she didn't have any, guess the Trudeau's will need 2 more rooms done for their NON Canadians nanny'S. I can't wait to get REAL CANADIANS back in this house, filling it with the Sheer kids it will go back to resembling a real home like when the Harpers lived in it. I bet they re dig the firepit that the Trudeau's likely covered with some massive French fountain - can you even IMAGINE Mrs Trudeau BBQing? Lmao, 'Oh Chef, put a sirloin patty on that thing will you'?. I hope Mrs Sheer saved the Rhubarb, do you think Sofie even knows what it is? The Sheers will do wonderfully here and enjoy every piece if it IF the Trudeau's dont turn in into too much of a museum.

The amount spent on renovations is determined by the Ottawa commission that owns the house, not the PM.
